Hours are 10am to 6pm Saturday and 11am to 5pm Sunday. Drop by and bring your friends. 43 FCAA Artists will also join to exhibit 78 works of art in a group show at the THE MARY CONDON HODGSON ART GALLERY at the Frederick Community Col- lege. The exhibit opens Saturday June 5th with a reception from 5pm to 7pm and will run through July 7th. Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday, 9:30am – 9:00pm; Friday 9:30am – 5:00pm and Saturday, 9:30am – 3:00pm. I want to thank everyone who submitted work for this show. Exhibits like these not only show off our members’ talent, they also promote the association. I hope to see you all on the first Saturday in June. June is always a busy month for FCAA members. This year Rebecca Jackson, Margaret Brown, Peter Plant, Rosemary Watson, Bill O’Donnell, Craig Cavin and Ron Roos will share exhibit space in the FCAA display at the Frederick Arts Festival, June 5th and 6th. Hours are 10am to 6pm Saturday and 11am to 5pm Sunday. Drop by and bring your friends.

43 FCAA Artists will also join to exhibit 78 works of art in a group show at the THE MARY CONDON HODGSON ART GALLERY at the Frederick Community Col-lege. The exhibit opens Saturday June 5th with a reception from 5pm to 7pm and will run through July 7th. Donna Ferrandino was awarded First Place in Watercolor in the 29th Annual Juried Miniatures Art Show, Colorado Springs, CO...... Donna had one piece, “Cruciform” (see top right), accepted into the juried Towson ARTS Collective 3rd Anniversary Exhibition, Towson, MD. This show runs from June 11 to August 15, 2010._______________

Elisabeth Vismans has a show in the Great Frame-Up in Longmont, CO in July and am working on a series of Colorado landscapes. (right below, Creek in Boulder)_______________

“Summer Rabbit”, a raku fired sculpture by ceramic artist, Jane Dunsmore will be shown in the 78th Annual Cumberland Val-ley Artists Exhibition, held at Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. The show is on from June 5 – September 26, 2010. There will be a reception at the museum on Sunday, June 13, 2:30 to 4:00 pm._______________

Linda Harrison-Parsons Papermaking Workshop: June 11th-12th & 13th from 10:00 - 3:00 $50.00 per day or $125.00 for all 3 days. This workshop is open to all levels, learn to pull sheets of paper, pour paper and embed objects in handmade paper. Bring your lunch, stay for an hour or the whole day. Fees negotiable. Rebecca Jackson has a print for the Frederick Festival of Arts-Carrousel- Pre-cious Bunny. She is doing the Festival of Arts with the FCAA booth. Also the FCAA show at the FCC. Also Rebecca will be one of the plein air artists at the Gettysburg Arts Festival.starting June 18th in Gettys-burg. .____________

Nancy Heindl has accumulated too many wood frames and has a space problem. They are suitable for framing canvases, and sizes are 16x20, 18x24 and 20x24. Most have antique gold finishes. She would like to sell some of them at half their original cost. If interested, phone Nancy Heindl at 301-299-6176____________

Liz Holm has 6 floral paintings in the Gardner Pavillion at the Delaplaine Center until June 26th....Liz is also in a group show June 19th and 20th at Jane Byron’s historic farm in Middletown.see flier/info next page._____________

The FCAA Annual Picnic will be held on Sunday, August 1st with a rain date of Au-gust 8th at the home of Marilynn Miller, 9327-A Gravel Hill Road, west of Wood-sboro. This is on a hill with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and Peter Plant and his plein air group willbe going early to do some art work. If you wish to join them, contact Peter. Marilynn is making her swimming pool available to us, so anyone who would like to swim, bring your suits and towels. We will have our usual pot-luck meal and there is a barbecue grill available for those who wish to grill something. We also need to bring our own chairs. We will probably start assembling about 4:00. This will be announced at the regular members meeting on June 14th and we will be sending an e-mail reminder with a map during July._____________

(Opposite page) Coming in June to the Blanche Ames Gallery. The group, known as Friday Painters, meets weekly year ‘round in Shepherdstown, as it has for many years. Some of the group are mem-bers of the FCAA.

In July, the gallery will feature works in various media created by members of the Unitarian Universalist Congrega-tion, where the Blanche Ames Gallery is housed, 4880 Elmer Derr Road, Frederick. A reception will be held Sunday, July 11, 11:30 - 1 p.m., to which the public is cor-dially invited. ________________

Call For Artists

The United States Mint invites artists, designers, and illustrators from all over the country to apply for a paid position as a contracted, Associate Designer in our suc-cessful Artistic Infusion Program (AIP). Artists chosen to be a part of the AIP pro-gram can work from anywhere and have the tremendous opportunity to take part in American history by contributing potential designs for the next generation of coins. Previously, AIP artists have submitted suc-cessful designs for coins released through the 50 State Quarters Program and the Presidential $1 Coin Program. This year, artists can apply onlinehttp://www.usmint.gov/artistsAdditionally, after submitted designs are reviewed, one design will ultimately be chosen to become a coin. Chosen artists will receive $2,000 for each assigned design submission as well as an additional $5,000 if their design is selected to be sculpted into a coin. Dolores Mitchell www.doloresmitchell.comwill serve as the major juror of this exhibit She received her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, Art History and her PhD in Art History at UCLA. Delores has recently retired from teaching at California State University, Chico, where she had been a Professor of Art History for over 30 years. She was a founding owner and currently, is a member of the Avenue 9 Gallery Art Guild. As a writer of articles critiquing art and artists for local magazines, she has recently been published in a national magazine featuring an article about her paintings reflecting the art and culture of Northern California. Butte County Watercolor Society was founded in 2007.and is currently prepar-ing for the Fourth Annual Members Show. Benefits of membership include opportuni-ties to exhibit their work through galleries, museums and local venues. Once a month members gather for workshops, critiques, and networking.
