Overall, fraudsters hit 73% of businessesat least once during the last year.

The retail, wholesale and distributionsector had a substantial theft problemover the past year, with the number ofcompanies with physical assets takenalmost doubling, to 45%, from 25% in

2011-2012. Exposure to fraud hasincreased (94%) in this market sector.

Card fraud within the Single EuroPayments Area (SEPA) increased in 2012for the first time since 2008, drivenmainly by higher internet fraud.
