Here are some of our accomplishments: Opening of the Residences at Eastland and Buttercup Place Apartments — $26 million invested and a total of 238 quality housing units created Improvements in District 5 parks with gas-well revenue, which includes $500,000 improvements to Prairie Dog Park Current plans for a joint venture with Tarrant County for improvements to the Plaza Park off Rosedale and S. Loop 820 Investment of over $100,000 in the Meadowbrook Library for expansion into a Library and Work Force Center. Investment of over $100,000 for renovation of Cavile Place Library for improved service in the Cavile Place/Stop Six Community Work with the Sunrise/Stop Six Model Block to assure funds are invested in the community and not lost Work with the Historic Carver Heights Model Block to assure funds are invested in the community and not lost Work with the Handley Urban Village to secure $392,000 in sidewalk and landscape improvements Secured funding commitment for $17 million for the improvement of East Rosedale, from Miller Ave. to Stalcup • Quality new home construction in the Polytechnic community Return of local control to neighborhoods by initiating rezoning of over 3400 acres Two new Public Arts Projects, totaling over $150,000 to benefit the Stop Six and Carver Heights communities Approval of the Arlington Lake Master Plan, which will give direction for redevelopment along the lake’s Fort Worth side Securing of bond funding of $6.7 million and approval of the right of way for a Lake Shore Drive connecting the Berry Urban Village on the north and Wilbarger Street on the South. The road will open over 200 acres for development on Lake Arlington Completion of repair of Trinity Boulevard in Centerport Industrial Park with $1.8 million in gas well royalties There are many new projects to be announced!
