French Embassy in Ireland and the Alliance Française are delighted to partner in a series of events for you to enjoy:

INES KHAI AND ZILOKA IN CONCERT
Yé KRIK-Kréyol Ireland Konexion presents two days of French Caribbean
events with the support of the French Embassy and Alliance Française.
Ines Khai will carry you away to the tropics with traditional Gwoka rhythms and
her soul inspired voice. Ines will be followed by the Ziloka band with an original
and spicy Gwoka show of dance, singing and drumming.

EDUCATION TEACHING ASSISTANTSHIP IN FRANCE 2013/2014 DEADLINE: 11 MARCH 2013
The recruitment campaign for the teaching assistantship positions in France is still
open.
This scheme is aimed at students who are aged between 20 and 35, who have
completed at least two years of higher education in modern languages by the time they
take up their post and who have a working knowledge of the French language.

EDUCATION CAMPUS FRANCE OFFICE IN IRELAND
French Senator Françoise Laborde, President of the France-Ireland Senate Friendship Group along with French Ambassador to Ireland, Emmanuelle d’Achon officially launched Campus France Ireland on 21 February 2013.
This new branch of the French public agency, Campus France, is based in Dublin and offers personalised assistance to Irish students who wish to study in France. PUBLIC LECTURE "PHILOSOPHIES OF JUDAISM, CHRISTIANITY, AND ISLAM IN THE MEDIEVAL CULTURAL SPACE" BY PROF. RÉMI BRAGUE, UNIVERSITIES OF MUNICH AND PARIS SORBONNE 12 MARCH 2013
This lecture will compare the different understandings of philosophy which the three monotheistic religions developed in the Middle Ages. Professor Rémi Brague is a Trinity Long Room Hub Visiting Research Fellow and is Professor of Arabic and Religious Philosophy at the Sorbonne. He has been honored by the French National Centre for Scientific Research and is a member of the Institut de France, Academy of Moral and Political Science. He received the Josef-Pieper Preis in 2009, the Grand prix de philosophie de l’Académie Française in 2009, the Ratzinger Prize in Theology in 2012, and has been made Chevalier de l’Ordre National de la Légion d’honneur in 2013. Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Language Week) is a yearly festival celebrating Irish
language and culture in Ireland and abroad. This year Mary Immaculate College,
Limerick decided to extend the event to the promotion of multilingualism and invited
other departments to join in. On this occasion the Department of French Studies, with
the support of the French Embassy and Institut Français, will organise the public

EDUCATION LAB CITOYEN WRITING CONTEST REGISTRATION DEADLINE 25 MARCH 2013
Lab Citoyen is a new programme managed both by the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Ireland and the Institut Français in Paris. Taking over from the Allons en France contest, it mainly focuses on the human rights matters, the theme of this year being : « The Human Rights in the XXIrst century, getting committed for tomorrow ». The Cultural Service will select a young Irish citizen from 18 to 25 of age, with a good proficiency in French (B1 level required), to participate in a 10 days cultural stay in France, from July 6th to July 16th, all inclusive. In the framework of French Orientalist paintings exhibition, the Chester Beatty
Library in association with the French Embassy presents a Public Lecture by
Professor Ségolène Le Men.
Ségolène Le Men studied at the Ecole Normale Supérieure and is currently a
professor of art history at the University of Paris X—Nanterre. She is the author of
numerous publications on nineteenth-century French art.

Dublin’s French language playgroup for children takes place on the 2nd
and 4th Saturdays of every month at 10.30am in the café at IMMA in
Kilmainham, Dublin 8. The group is completely free of charge. The parents
and their children meet, sing songs, read stories and do other activities in
French.
The age group of children is from under a year old to about 5 years old.
