The Fellow Program at IIM Bangalore was a transformative period for me. IIMB’s coursework and training create a robust starting point for one’s academic journey. Frequent lectures and workshops by renowned visiting academics, institutional

support to present my research at national and international conferences, and co-organizing academic conferences on campus – all of this constituted an enriching experience. I remain grateful for a fantastic dissertation supervisor with whom I continue to collaborate, and very supportive dissertation committee members. I carry with me memories of great times with wonderful peers, and the beautiful campus with its foliage and brilliant architecture.

Pursuing a PhD is a life-changing experience, and I am glad I began my doctoral journey in IIM Bangalore. The Fellow Program at IIMB is one of the finest doctoral programs in management in the country and it consistently attracts high-quality applicants from diverse backgrounds.

At IIMB, the guidance from world-class faculty and the interaction with a motivated peer group helped me in my intellectual explorations. The Pritzker prize-winning architect, Dr. B.V. Doshi, conceived the IIMB campus as a flowing river — an organic structure where architectural elements are in a perfect ‘jugalbandi’ with Nature. Likewise, the Fellow Program allowed me the flexibility to organically evolve my own research, drawing from a ‘jugalbandi’ of rigorous multi-disciplinary training. I greatly value the tremendous academic freedom and generous support that enabled me to pursue my intellectual curiosities with relish.

FINANcIAL SuPPORTFPM students will receive

• Tuition waiver

• Monthly stipend of – ` 29,300 for four years and nine months

• Year 1: Start-up grant of – ` 75,000 for purchasing hardware, software, etc.

• Years 2-5: Contingency grant of ` 25,000

• Post-proposal stipend increment – ` 2,000 per month

• National conference – ` 20,000 (Thrice)

• International conference – ` 1,50,000 (first time) and ` 75,000 for subsequent conferences (subject to approval)

• Hostel fee waiver

• HRA for off-campus students

• ` 8,500 per month (single students)

• ` 13,000 per month (married students)

Selection

• Candidates will be shortlisted (on the recommendation of the respective areas) and called to Bangalore for an area-specific written test and / or interview (For details ref: http://www.iimb.ac.in/node/14662).

• Interviews will be held during the last week of March 2019*.

• Candidates can gain admission to the programme based on a combination of multiple parameters, as specified by the respective areas. Parameters may include performance in CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE, JRF (NET), or the IIMB Test (as applicable), past academic performance, work experience, area-specific test and / or interview performance, etc.

• Candidates selected for admission are required to attend a preparatory course during May-June 2019.

• Registration for the programme on June 10, 2019*.

The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is the doctoral programme of IIMB. The FPM at IIMB is recognized as a rigorous research programme in all areas of business management and public policy. It is a great stairway to a productive academic career. The programme is committed to training individuals to excel in their chosen areas of research through publication of quality work of international standards.
