China
Whether it’s your first visit or twentieth, China is a diverse and
fast-changing country and always an adventure. From its
great outdoors to its grand cities, the rich layers of history and
cultural diversity in this enormous country make for an
extraordinary experience. The scale of China’s grand sights is
overwhelming and it is important to enjoy its age-old
traditions: perhaps tai chi in a bird garden, exploring the
mighty metropolis of Hong Kong, or a game of mahjong at
afternoon tea. China of course offers arguably the world’s
greatest cuisine.
Beijing
Inextricably linked to its glorious and notorious past, yet
hurtling towards a power charged future, Beijing is one of
history’s great cities. It is as complex as it is compelling. Few
places on earth can match the extraordinary panorama on
display with six UNESCO World Heritage sites in the city alone.
Nanjing
Many visitors only pass through Nanjing but the capital of
Jiangsu lying on the lower stretches of the Yangzi River boasts
a rich, impressive and historical heritage. Echoing the city’s
brief former glory as the nation’s capital during its Ming-
dynasty a city wall still encloses most of the city. This famous
university town has wide tree line boulevards, chic cafes and
excellent museums. Nanjing may sprawl today but the
atmosphere is both cultural and relaxed.
Shanghai
Shanghai: few cities evoke so much history, excess, glamour,
mystique and exotic promise in name alone. A short time
ago Shanghai was a bustling port town that has now
evolved to become the modern face of China. It’s the
cuisine, the people, European Streets, art deco buildings,
narrow alleys, modern architecture, the arts, entertainment
and shopping that has blended to create one of the
greatest cities in the world.
Hong Kong
A city of contrasts – a striking fusion of East and West, old and
new. Modern day cosmopolitan living co-exists in harmony
with local lifestyles and timeless traditions, where gleaming
modern skyscrapers tower over rustic street markets, ancient
temples and icons of the city’s colonial past. A city with a
pulse – Hong Kong never sleeps.

Destination Overview - Vietnam

Vietnam
Successively occupied by China, Russia, France,
Japan, and the United States, Vietnam has had its
share of foreign interference, but today, the
Vietnamese are focused on rocketing into the future.
In this new era of confident self-determination the
atmosphere is one of optimism. Fortunately Vietnam's
traditional charms have not yet been
eclipsed. Although motorbikes continue to replace
bicycles at an alarming rate, the former Communist
stronghold is embracing progress and the country
offers an astonishing variety of scenery.
Whether your fascination is wartime relics, rice
paddies, beaches, the Mekong Delta, history, foodie
trails, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, traditional villages
or nature Vietnam is re-inventing itself constantly and
is well worth the visit.
Hanoi
Showcasing sweeping boulevards, tree-fringed lakes
and ancient pagodas, Hanoi is Vietnam’s most
atmospheric capital. It's an energetic city on the
move, and Hanoi’s ambitious citizens are determined
to make up for lost time.
As motorbikes and pedestrians ebb and flow through
the Old Quarter’s centuries-old commercial chaos,
hawkers in conical hats still ply their wares while other
locals breakfast on noodles or sip drip-coffee.
At dawn on the shores of Hoan Kiem Lake,
synchronised tai chi sessions take place beside
goateed grandfathers contemplating their next chess
moves. In Lenin Park, choreographed military drills
have been replaced by chaotic skateboarders; while
Hanoi’s bright young things celebrate in cosmopolitan
restaurants and bars.
Hanoi is a compelling blend of Parisian grace and
Asian pace.

Shanghai Restaurants
Green Ripple
Houjia Road, Fangbang Middle Road, Huangpu District,Shanghai
http://www.toplineonline.net/restaurants.asp?id=353&cla=shanghai&cla2=shanghai
One of Shanghai's oldest and most famous restaurants, though it isn't as serene as its name suggests., Lubolang Restaurant
has formed four series of dishes: Shanghai Dishes, Shanghai refreshments, crab feast, and shark fin. The restaurant has been
popularly praised for its delicate food and hospitable service. New Lubolang Restaurant is one of Shanghai’s most
characteristic landscape restaurants. The elegant hall is designed in the form of courtyard to reflect the Chinese-style
environment.
Meilongzhen
No. 22, Lane 1081, Nanjing Xi Lu, near Jiangning Lu
http://travel.cnn.com/shanghai/eat/shanghais-oldest-restuarants-335264/
Back from 1938, this spot is easy to miss, hidden in nondescript lane off Nanjing Xi Lu. And, as legend goes, it gets its name
from Ming Dynasty emperor ‘Zhengde,’ who once visited the nearby Meilongzhen village in disguise. Over the years, this
venue’s popularity grew for diners of all ilks, and at one time was a favorite haunt for the who’s who of Shanghai’s cultural
and underground masses. Specializing in Sichuanese, Yangzhou and "eventually" Shanghainese cuisine respectively, over
time its master chefs merged to form a special menu of fusion tastes, long before fusion was even close to cool.
Suggestion House of Roosevelt: Wine Bar & Restaurant
27 Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu, near Beijing Dong Lu, Huangpu district
http://www.27bund.com/
The House of Roosevelt is the most recent incarnation of the Bund 27 building. In the past, it's been the HQ of British trading
firm/opium sellers Jardine Matheson, the offices of the Japanese Navy intelligence, and the Shanghai Foreign Trade
Commission. Now, purchased by the American Roosevelt family, it's been turned into the city's largest wine cellar, a bistro,
a super-elite member's club, a conservative fine-dining restaurant, and a rooftop with view across the river. It feels
elegantly rustic, with rough wooden floors, original bare walls, and arched windows with wine barrels scattered around.
Suggestion Napa Wine Bar and Kitchen
Second Floor, South Bund 22, Zhongshan Dong Er Lu, near Jinling Lu, Huangpu district
http://www.napawinebarandkitchen.com/
Napa Wine Bar and Restaurant resides at Bund 22. The iconic, colonial era building is an international finance and business
property that combined classic with modern styles in Shanghai. Napa serves French food that begs for a bottle of wine to
go with it. Chef Patrick Dang’s menu manages to integrate seemingly disparate elements while sidestepping any fusion
clichés. A well-stocked cellar of vintages from premier Bordeaux Chateaux and other premier growers throughout the wine
world compliments the menu providing harmony between food and wine.
Suggestion Lost Heaven on Bund
17 Yanan Dong Lu, near Sichuan Nan Lu, Huangpu district
http://www.lostheaven.com.cn/main.html
The restaurant Lost Heaven on the Bund is located 10 metres off the Bund and serves Yunnan food from Southern china.
With a strong decoration style mainly in red tones many antique furniture is on display including a Buddhist goddess
Guanyin statue. The tableware is reminiscent of the southern ambiance ethnic groups. It covers three floors – first floor is a
