RALLY PICTURESMany thanks to Ron “ReddyK” Latkovic, who shot the pictures in this collage.

Some of these include shots of the Motel - Cabins group that stayed at a new and delightful B & B just a short hop, skip, and jump from therally site. And that’s a new T-Rex Ron is ogling. And if you look closely, you can see Leo nicely riding his sweet airhead in ‘reverse mode’.It turned out to be a great weekend--terrific weather and a nice group of riders!

47TH RALLY PICTURES AT REDBANK COMMUNITY PARK CONTINUED..Many thanks to Diane “Lady Di” Pears for the fine photos of the rally on these two pages. You’ll note the sunny weather and all the

great bikes and riders in attendance.

  • 5

Note the Can-Am being ‘tested.’ If you look closely at the sidecar you’ll see it sports eyes large enough to scare even the most blase cagerinto giving the motorcyclist room. And the B & B is a new one Diane found that is a great place to stay for those who like their camping withall the amenities including a fine breakfast every morning and at very reasonable rates. We trust it will be nicely available next year. Markit on your calendars and check it out, you who like a roof on your ‘tent.’ It’s quite close to the rally location and easy to get to.

    N. COUNTRY BREWERY& OLD STONE HOUSE RIDE

    SATURDAY, AUGUST 10by Joyce Elk

Jack Bramkamp, Ron and Jeannette Latkovic, and I rode to the NorthCountry Brewery for lunch. One of our stops included the Old StoneHouse in Butler where the French and British had set up camps.Jack and Ron were up to there usual antics. The back roads behindthe Stone House were beautiful. We had to turn around once whenthe road turned to gravel, and once when we ran into a detour. All inall, it was a great ride.

    JOYCE

The Old Stone House on Pa Rte 8 north of Butler just north of where one oftthe motorcyclist’s favorite roads, Rte 528 runs into 8 is an innthat dates from colonial times and then was considered a day’s ride from Pittsburgh on the road to Erie. On some weekends during thesummer, Slippery Rock University provides tour guides who take people through the Inn and describe what life was like at the inn during itsheyday as a needed stopover on the road to Erie or Pittsburgh suring the early 19th century. It consists of a large common room with bar, tables for meals, drinks, and game playing in the evenings, and bedrooms upstairs with traditional rope laced bedsteads and straw tickmattresses (on which travelers frequently slept 2, 3, or 4 to a bed depending on the amount of clientele needing overnight lodging. It appearsthat on the weekend Joyce, Jack, Jeanette, and Ron stopped, a French and Indian War reenactment was going on, one of which Indians(probably the one picking his nose in the picture) loaned Ron his tomahawk knowing that no scalping would occur as Jack keeps his patenicely shaved, and scalps that lack hair don’t count as coup. Besides, Ron and Jack are great friends so Jack was perfectly safe (he hoped!Wink, Wink)

    NORTH BREAKFAST RIDEAUGUST 4, 2013

by Ron “ReddyK” LatkovicAnd then there were six, where is everyone? Hey guys and gals, check out John Barr’s new Piagio! He bought it at Mosite motorsports. It’s a BV 350. John, of course, kept his K1300GT bike. Missed allyou guys who usually attend. Hope everything is well.

GARY SMITH RIDES ON!Sent in by Ron “The Camper” Kranz

On Tuesday, August 13, 2013 the Pittsburgh Post Gazette had a story that included Gary Smith. See Section A, page 2. The link below is forthe article.

For an ‘executive summary,’ it seems Gary heard about Boris Weinstein’s self created program for cleaning up litter in his old HomeTown, Pittsburgh, to help keep the place neat and tidy. Gary got together with him and having found out about his program, exported theidea to Cape St. Lucie where he and Kay now live. Trust Gary to be ‘up and at ‘em.’
