Teacher Directions- Set #1 Get ready to have your students excited to play a fun, hands-on

game that will challenge their thinking skills in reading and thinking about

the four types of sentences. This set of Order Up! is the perfect set

to test your students' knowledge, for use as a center activity, an individual

or partner activity, or to help them practice for that important state test!

Directions for Use:

1- Copy the work mat (optional) and order up! strips on card stock.

2- Laminate each page and cut apart the Order Up! strips LEAVING

THE ANSWERS attached!

3- Demonstrate for the students how to play the

game:

a- Start with the card that reads (START).

b- Place it on the bottom section of the work mat. Read and solve the problem that is written

on the START strip.

c- When you have an answer, find the strip that has the answer printed on it. Place it on the

work mat in the next section up.

d- Continue reading and solving problems until you reach the top of the work mat.

4- Explain that all the answers ARE on the strips, and that all the strips are used for the

game.

5- Turn the students loose to enjoy the activity knowing that it is self-

checking, making this a virtually independent activity!

Alternate Ways to Enjoy Your Order Up! set:

Use as a language arts center.

Make copies of the STUDENT VERSION and work mats on regular paper

and have the students "cut and paste" the strips on the work mat.

Once students have a good understanding of how to play, have them

make up their own set of Order Up cards and add it to your collection.

Send home the page as a homework or extra credit assignment.

I hope that you enjoy sharing this activity with your students as much as I enjoyed

creating it for my classes! Keep them excited all year long with more sets of Order Up!

available in my Teachers Pay Teachers and Teacher's Notebook stores. If you need further

assistance, have a special request, or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am

willing to help in any way that I am able.
