What does God say about himself?

All people have a natural knowledge of

God

Hebrews 3:4

• For every house is built by someone, but God is

the builder of everything.

All people have a natural

• [T]hey show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.

All people have a natural

Our natural knowledge of God tells us there is a God who is

wise and powerful and also that he is holy,

and hates sin.

This natural knowledge of God doesn’t tell us

who the true God is or

about a Savior from sin

Acts 17:26-27From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

God gives people natural knowledge to lead them to

seek after the Lord.

Revealed Knowledge of God

John 1:18No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.

John 14:8-9Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.
