This workshop is designed for those looking to gain a better understanding of the fundamentals of the LNG industry - from the technical to the commercial aspects.

Downstream LNG distribution is growing in many markets such as Norway, China, Japan, Spain and USA. LNG offers more flexibility for many consumers and potential customers than pipeline gas. A regional LNG distribution network will also increase LNG usage for fuelling marine vessels.

This workshop will also discuss on LNG Handling, expediting LNG delivery systems including trucking, rail, utilizing LNG and LCNG-powered transportation for transporting LNG to remote power generation, industrial markets, and needle peak shaving units. Some of the focused areas will include cost and market economics, key operational issues, safety performance reviewing various downstream distribution approaches including barges for inter-island and river transport. Tony Regan is the Principal Consultant with Tri-Zen International Pte Ltd a Singapore based energy consultancy providing technical, commercial & financial advisory services to the oil, gas, chemicals and power sectors in Asia Pacific. Tony focuses on natural gas, LNG and CBM. He has extensive international oil and gas experience, much of it gained during 25 years with Shell International and more recently with Nexant where he was a Principal responsible for their gas practice in Asia. With Shell he developed several new businesses and held senior management positions in Europe and Asia. He was �rst introduced to the world of LNG in the early 1990's when he held the position of Vice President, Energy with Shell Korea and arranged the rst spot cargoes of LNG into Korea from Australia and Brunei and facilitated discussions that led to KOGAS becoming a lead customer in Oman LNG. With Nexant he led the team providing LNG technical and commercial advisory services to PowerGas, the developers of the Singapore LNG receiving terminal.

About Badak LNG

In entering the third milleniums, the Badak LNG plant has developed and able to produce the biggest LNG production in the world. Up to December 13, 2001, Badak LNG plant had shipped the 4500 LNG and the 5000 shipment projection would be in the second quarter of 2003.

The LNG plant also has ability to handle 3 shipment at the same time, by completing the 3rd loading pier at the end of 1999, which was built to anticipate the increasing shipment frequency in the future, as it is expecting to be able to maintain the service level to LNG buyer.

The natural gas reserve to produce LNG is still sufficient to serve buyers in long term under a contract and assurance of shipment. To maintain buyers confidence for gas reserve quantity, a 42” pipe line is added. Four parallel pipelines which able to ship 3600 million cubic feet (MMFSD) natural gas to the plant for further process.

Finally, Badak LNG plant become one of LNG plants with great experience in the world LNG industry, and become a vital asset for Indonesian LNG business chain.
