● civic education program, begun in 1999

● originaly from USA, adapted to croatian legal system

● several hundred kindergarten, primary and secondary school teachers trained

●in the academic year 2003/2004 included in regular educational system as optional subject in two schools in Croatia

Street Law II


● covers following topics:

● democracy for all

● human rights for all

● mock trial

● mediation

Street Law III


● disseminate practical knowledge about law, the legal system, and the fundamental principles on which a constitutional democracy is based

● understand issues concerning human rights, non violent conflict resolution, police procedure and court systems

Street Law IV


● through interactive methods, professors and students learn important life skills necessary for success: problem-solving, critical thinking, autonomy, and to identify multiple perspectives on issues

● citizens are encouraged to participate in various democratic processes

● in Croatia since 1997

● in 2004./2005. 338 teachers from across Croatia completed the training

● 26 professors from every Croatian university completed ALCT

● The Croatian RWCT team helps implement the project in: Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Hercegovina
