Dear Parents, Carers and Families

150 Year Celebration

This year is our sesquicentennial – the official

name for 150 year anniversary!

We are holding a meeting this Thursday 5th March at 1.30pm for any parents and community members who would be interested in helping us with the organisation of this event to be held on the 18th and 19th September.

At this meeting we will be discussing how to organise our memorabilia and a format for the day’s events. We will also be forming a committee who will meet regularly to ensure we have a well-planned and memorable event.

The meeting will be held in the school library. Afternoon tea will be provided.

Cross Country

Our school cross country will be held at school on Friday 13th March commencing at 9.30am.

The canteen will be having a special lunch meal deal available to parents and students after the events at approximately 11.30am. Please complete the order form provided and return to the school office by Tuesday 10th March for catering purposes.

Upper Lansdowne Public School will be joining us for the day.

Parents and family are welcome to come along and join the fun!

Save the Date

Parent/Teacher interviews will be held on Thursday 2nd April.

Notes with allocated times will be sent home soon. This is a great opportunity to meet with your child and their teacher to discuss progress and develop learning goals.

Children’s Uni

We will be participating in the Children’s University program again this year.

There will be a change to the graduation ceremony this year with the ceremony being held in Taree.

Information and permission notes have been handed out to all Yr 3 -6 students.

Students who would like to participate this year need to return their notes by the end of the week with the $5.00.

If you require further information about the Children’s University Program please contact the school.

P&C

The Annual General Meeting for our P&C will be held on Tuesday 17th March at 6.00pm at school. I encourage all parents and carers to come along as all positions will be declared vacant and we are looking for volunteers to fill these roles for 2020. Being a member of the P&C is a great way to be involved with your child’s education.

Family Occupation and Education Index

Attached to this newsletter is an orange form for parents to complete and return this week.

This information will be updated in our system for the Department of Education to use to determine our schools funding.

School Photos

School Photo order forms have gone home today. These order forms need to be returned by Monday 16th March.

Photos will be taken on Tuesday 17th March. All students must arrive to school on time and be in full school uniform.

School Cross Country Meal Deal

Meal Deal order forms have been sent home with today’s newsletter. Please complete 1x order form per child and parent/carer as they will be used to claim your meal on the day.

Canteen will also be open as normal to order or purchase other items.

P&C Annual General Meeting

Lansdowne Public School P&C Annual General Meeting will be held at the school on Tuesday 17th March commencing at 6.00pm

You do not need to be a member to attend the P&C meetings, but you do however need to be a financial member to have voting privileges and run for any positions on the committee.

It is only $1.00 to be a financial member of the P&C, fees are to be received by the P&C secretary, Margaret Haddon by 3.00pm next Monday 9th March 2020.

The monthly meeting will follow after the Annual General Meeting.

We are a very dedicated team that strive to assist our school as much as possible.

We would love to see as many parents or caregivers as possible to come along and join us.

Easter Raffle

Please continue to sell your raffle tickets, plus remember you can get more booklets from the school office if required.

The raffle will be drawn on Thursday 9th April at the Easter Hat Parade.

We are asking for donations of Easter goodies to go in our Easter Baskets.

These can be dropped off at the school office from now until Wednesday 8th April.

Mother’s Day Stall

We will be holding our Mother’s Day Stall on Thursday 7th May - Term 2. Please drop any donations off to the school office between now and the first week of term 2.

We will also be seeking helpers on the day.
