    FortiAP version 5.2.3 supports the following models:

    Whats new in FortiAP 5.2.3

    The following is a list of new features and enhancements in FortiAP version 5.2.3:

  • Upgrade Information

    Upgrading from FortiAP version 5.2.0 or later

    FortiAP 5.2.3 supports upgrading from v5.2.0 or later

    Upgrading from FortiAP v5.0

    FortiAP 5.2.3 supports upgrading from v5.0.9.

    FAP-221C upgrade path

    For FAP-221C units with v5.0.6 firmware (BIOS version: 04000002), you should first upgrade to version 5.2.0 and thenupgrade to the latest version.

    FAP-320C upgrade path

    Upgrading the FAP-320C from version 5.2.1 to version 5.2.2 or newer requires an intermediary step that adjusts theflash partition size to allow for a larger image to be stored on it. A flash upgrade image is stored in the same downloaddirectory as the v5.2.2 image. The intermediary image will display B0221 Interim in the get system statuscommand output. Please use the following upgrade path to version 5.2.2 or newer:

    v5.2.1 > FAP_320C-v5-FLASH-UPGRADE-fortinet.out > v5.2.2 or newer.

    Downgrading to previous firmware versions

    FortiAP 5.2.3 does not support downgrading to previous firmware versions.

    Firmware image checksums

    The MD5 checksums for all Fortinet software and firmware releases are available at the Customer Service & Supportportal, https://support.fortinet.com. After logging in select Download > Firmware Image Checksums, enter theimage file name including the extension, and select Get Checksum Code.

    0229214 In some rare case, FAP platforms supporting 802.11ac may encounter kernel crash on Assertioncookie_failed_count.

    0246847 Improved throughput performance over local-bridging SSID.

    0260645 Traffic matching split-tunneling ACL can pass through even if the user is not authenticated.

    0260456 Mesh not working over 5GHz on FAP-221C after reboot.

    0260473 In Mesh-Ethernet bridge topology, ARP is not forwarded on 5GHz 802.11ac AP.

    0260411 WiFi clients encounter ARP problem on local-bridging SSID after FAP rejoins controller.

    0264061 On FortiCloud captive-portal SSID, client can send non-http traffic through before WebAuth isdone.

    0266710 FAP loses connection with controller because of DHCPRenewal problem.

    0225550 The 802.11ac radio cannot support the Rogue AP Scan function.

    0236312 Split-tunneling SSIDs do not support VLAN tags.

    0245323 Spectrum analysis may result in high CPU usage on some FortiAPmodels including FAP-221B,FAP-223B, and FAP-221C.
