Thompson was very impressed by you when he joined us for Mass. He told me two different times,

“They sang and prayed so well!” You did; you do. So thank you!

Thank you also for your participation in the Parish Mission. I know not everyone could make all

the sessions, nor did I expect it. A good many of you made the effort to attend some, and that shows

your eagerness for Christ and His Church. Those who came enjoyed them and were edified by the time

spent. Fr Sullivan did a great job. I too feel renewed and recommitted. Blessings upon you all. +

Parish & School Maintenance Position: St. Mary Catholic Church, Rushville, is seeking an individual to fill a paid, full time Maintenance Personnel posi-tion with benefits. Mr. Tom Giesting has decided to retire at the end of the 2017-18 school year. This person will provide cleaning, set-up, and light maintenance for the parish and school buildings and parish grounds. The ideal candidate will be a hard- working, faith-filled, and self-directed person with a basic knowledge of building repair, carpentry, and painting, as well as physical fitness to lift and move items. I graduated from Rushville High School. I work for my dad, Brian Noah, building houses for Westport Homes in and around Indianap-olis, I am going to marry my best friend, Olivia Lower, June 23, 2018. I grew up in Rush County. I have always wanted to become a permanent part of a

church After 10 years, I met Olivia and started attend-ing St. Mary Catholic Church. Olivia’s dad, David Lower said to me, “You better watch out, when you get hit with the Holy water you will become a part of the church. It happened to me.” The Catholic teachings are so amazing because they have been the same for so many years. My favorite Saint is Isidore and my favorite scripture passage is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” My favorite hobby is farming and I can’t wait to visit Roatan, Honduras.

SLEEPING MATS FOR THE HOMELESS: The

Sodality is sponsoring a work day to help make the mats on Monday, February 12 from 2-7p.m. at the K of C Hall. Soup and drinks will be available. Come enjoy food and fellowship while working. There are several steps involved, so there is something for everyone to do! Call Mary Delay for details, 765-465-3542. Bags will no longer be needed after the workday.

Mowing Bids are now being accepted for the mowing of the church and school grounds for the 2018 mowing season. Bids must be submitted to the

parish office by noon on February 19, 2018.

Fr. Burkhart Scholarship applications are available in the parish office during regular business hours. Applicants must be attending a Catholic college in 2018/2019. Deadline to apply is April 1, 2018. Late applications will not be accepted.

Boy Scout Troop 33 will be hosting a Fish and Tenderloin Fry at the K of C on Friday, February 16 from 4:30p.m.-7:30p.m. Fish, tenderloin, french fries, au gratin potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, apple- sauce, and desserts. The Annual Spring Rummage Sale benefitting the St. Mary School PTO will be held at the CONSERVATION CLUB (1204 E ST RD 33) on Friday, March 2 from 9a.m.-5p.m.and Satur-day, March 3 from 9a.m.-1p.m. Please start gathering your donations. Drop off for the sale items will be on Thursday, March 1 from 9a.m.-6p.m. at the CONSERVATION CLUB.
