Publications From The Cromar History Group Over the past nineteen years, the Cromar History Group has published well over three hundred items relating to the history and heritage of the area of Upper Deeside known as Cromar. Some of these articles are original, having been written by our own members or by others who support the Group. Other items have been copied from personal collections of newspaper cuttings, photographs, typescripts and manuscripts. Still others have been copied with permission from other publications and from internet sources. Together, they make up a remarkable archive that gives a unique insight into how people have lived, worked, fought and played in this area for the last six thousand years or more.

One of our very earliest publications was entitled Tarland’s Bygone Days and contains stories and reminiscences recorded from senior members of the community during the mid-1990s.

Our Newsletter first appeared in 1994 as an annual brief account of the Group’s activities. It rapidly grew into a much more extensive collection of articles and images which prompted the change of title in 2004 to the more appropriate Echoes From Cromar’s Past. The first seven issues of the Cromar History Group’s Newsletter were recompiled and made available as a single publication under the title Anither Keek At Tarland’s Lang Syne.

Confused? The table below gives the bare details of all our publications and can be used with the downloadable index (see http://www.cromarhistorygroup.org.uk/) to track down specific publications which can then be printed to order or accessed as a PDF file. The prices quoted are correct as at December 2013. Postage costs are not included in the ‘Printed to order’ price.
