Interaction with Professional Institutions

Started his career as a lecturer in 1993, Dr. Pillai joined Kerala

Forest Department as an Economist (in a World Bank funded India

Ecodevelopment Project) in December 1999. He was engaged in

conducting research and review studies on participatory

biodiversity conservation programme; resource persons to

capacity building training programmes and liaisoning with various

line departments. He frequently interacted with the delegates of

World Bank supervision mission, which was in due in every six

month. Dr. Pillai later joined Periyar Foundation, a government

owned public trust for conducting research and training on

participatory biodiversity conservation. He has received

professional training from Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigal,

Tamil Nadu, National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad

and VV Giri National Labour Institute, New Delhi. Before joining

MSNIMT, he served in the Middle East as an academician for more

than four years.
