The Book Fair is Back!

Our Book Fair is a buy one, get one free* event that brings to our

school a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. Giving kids access to good books and the opportunity to choose their own books will motivate them to read more over the summer. And like most acquired skills, the more kids practice reading, the better they’ll get. Since there will never be a substitute for a parent’s direct involvement in his/her child’s education, please make plans to visit our Book Fair. Hope to see you there!

WHAT IS SMARTCHOICE FOOD AND WHO MAY PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?

The Smart Choice Food Program realizes that people today are struggling with the ever-increasing costs for the basics of life. In light of this fact, this program was established to provide top quality food at a greatly reduced price to anyone. We have NO memberships & NO income guidelines! Literally everyone in your community is qualified to purchase from the program! If You Eat, You Qualify! It’s clearly the Smart Choice!

WHAT IS THE COST/VALUE OF THE FOOD? The Smart Box, containing between $55-$80 worth of top quality food is available to anyone for the low cost of $36. Additional savings are available through the purchase of our special Value Boxes designed to supplement the basic meats and other special values. Value Boxes are available in any quantity with the only requirement being that the customer purchases at least on Smart Box.

WHAT ABOUT THE FOOD QUALITY? The Smart Choice Food Program provides top-quality, restaurant-grade food. We NEVER provide “seconds” or outdated food. We purchase directly from top US food suppliers. You will recognize national and regional brand foods.

HOW MUCH FOOD IS PROVIDED? The Smart Box provided each month contains enough food to feed an average family of four for about a week, or a single or senior for about a month, allowing most families to reduce their monthly food budget by about half.

IS THE FOOD THE SAME EVERY MONTH? Our basic “menu” changes each month allowing for variety in the family’s meals, including quality meats, a variety of frozen vegetables and fruits, seafood and other staples, providing the basis for a nutritionally balanced diet.

IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MUCH FOOD I CAN ORDER? The Smart Choice Food Program places no limit on the quantity of Smart Boxes a customer can purchase. This allows for families of all sizes to benefit from the program. The more you purchase, the more you save!

HOW IS THE FOOD MADE AVAILABLE? The distribution of food is accomplished through the use of volunteers participating in the program at various sites situated in local communities. Most Host Sites are churches who have the desire to reach out to their communities by assisting their neighbors who either have a need for assistance, or simply desire to reduce the dollars which they spend each month for groceries.

WHERE DOES THE FOOD COME FROM? The Smart Choice Food Program receives the food utilized in its boxes from nationally known manufactures/suppliers. The entire product is then received by a company called Atlantic Foods, located in Cincinnati, OH. They handle the packaging and shipping of our food boxes.

WHAT IS A HOST SITE? A Host Site is a church or organization where people can come and order their Smart Choice Food and return on distribution day to pick up the food that was ordered.

Donations to schools: Target will track purchases made by participating REDcard holders, then send a no-strings-attached donation check directly to the school principal. Checks are distributed once a year. If the total of accumulated donations is less than $25, the amount carries over to the next payment period. You can track Ford’s progress at www.target.com/tcoe Remember, grandparents, alumni, friends or neighbors can help, too! They don’t even have to be local residents! Program details can be found at www.target.com/tcoe or by calling 1-800-316-6142.

To help support Ford Intermediate School students, recycle the following items in the Abitibi Paper Bins in our parking lot: catalogs, magazines, newspapers, junk mail, office paper, fax paper, school paper, notebooks, and folders. The more we recycle the more money we earn! Visit their website for more information www.paperretriever.com
