Ford Camera Tracking Car
The Ford tracking car can carry a wide array of multiple camera rigs in many different positions, all
around the vehicle (perfect for 3D tracking shots with even larger rigs), thanks to a rail system that can be
modified for any specific requirement (see photos). Multiple cameras can be mounted for manual
operation (with our sliders and fluid heads) on the front, on the back trailer and on the roof of the cab.
The Ford Tracking Vehicle works especially well with any of our Telescopic Cranes (up to 43') and our
Lenny Arm cranes for remote filming, with room on the back to carry 4 people safely.
The perfect tracking vehicle for car commercials and vehicle to vehicle tracking shots. The advantage of
our Ford tracking car is it can carry the whole team responsible for the shots, fit the Director, DOP,
camera operators and crane operators on one mobile vehicle and get all your shots, safely and reliably.
Probably the most versatile mobile camera platform in the Chapman UK fleet. The Ford camera tracking
car is the perfect all rounder when you need stable tracking shots to capture a dialogue scene in a car
with a process trailer (coming soon) or close-ups of talent 'driving' or 'riding' from a moving vehicle, day or
night. Carry crew, mount additional lighting or FX rigs and control all your cameras remotely (with
monitors) or manually thanks to the Ford's on board power.
The large V8 petrol engine is smooth and relatively quiet at low revs, providing more than enough power
for heavy loads, steep roads or higher speed vehicle tracking shots, with a crane arm. The Ford's air ride
suspension is adjustable for a low centre of gravity and helps soak up the bumps for a very smooth ride.
When you want the very best tracking shots with little or no camera vibration use the Ford tracking vehicle
with our Vibration Isolators and gyro stabilised, remote camera heads. At Chapman UK we have the
complete solution in house.

Powerful, very quiet and stable camera car platform with high load carrying ability (as many as
four cameras and remote heads, see video) and long wheel base.
Air ride suspension with rear wheel drive (x4 rear wheels for heavy loads) and smooth automatic
clutch.
Capable of carrying a crew of 7 (three in the cab & four on the rear) with seat belts and
harnesses.
