by Dennis Uhler I hope each of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving celebration. Turkey and stuffing are fan favorites no

matter the size of your gathering. All of us are truly blessed to be part of this wonderful Community. Now’s it’s time to jump on the Alpine Lake Black Friday sales. Golf memberships are on super special and they’re just the right size and color for that special someone who just happens to be a golf

fanatic. Don’t forget, the Pro shop is open today as well with deals on clothing and accessories. And to top it all off, the Beautification is selling Alpine Lake tree ornaments at the Lodge. Please come by and support your them all.

COVID As we see the increasing instances of COVID in WV we’re facing the difficult decisions about how we

respond. We’re maintaining business operations at present and plan to continue. Our restaurant remains open thus far and we must support strict operating protocols. Please wear your masks indoors until seated at your table, and despite the urge to visit other tables with friends and

neighbors, please refrain from wandering. **PO Christmas Party Cancellation**

Unfortunately, given the current COVID restrictions we must cancel the 2020 PO Christmas party event. We were not able to gain support from WV for the event.

The Beautification Committee is still sponsoring the outdoor lighting event on Saturday, December 5th. Please come to the Lodge and share the event. Details are elsewhere in this issue of FWIW.

COVID permitting, the restaurant will be open on Saturday, December 5th for anyone seeking to

dine out after the ceremonial lighting.

Important Announcement

Unfortunately, due to the rise in COVID cases, the

Property Owners Christmas Party on Saturday night, December 5th, has been cancelled.

Greetings Friends,

This has been an extremely difficult year for the Terra Alta Community Ambulance, as we are sure it has been for all of you as well.

Because of COVID-19, we have experienced significant financial hardships. Our ambulance runs

were down considerably, which has had a negative impact on our income. We were unable to host any of our typical fundraising efforts, such as our Gun Bash in March or our monthly BINGO

games due to restrictions set by the State Health Department and concern for everyone’s health and safety. We had expected to depend on the proceeds from these events to help defray the cost of the two cardiac monitors that were purchased earlier this year. This was an essential

purchase because the ones that we had been using were outdated and were no longer serviceable.

We make every effort to ensure that we have the proper equipment to provide the best possible

service to you – the members of our community.

Please consider making a financial donation to the Terra Alta Community Ambulance Squad at this time. Your continued support is very important to us, and especially so at this time. Checks can be dropped off at the squad building or mailed to TACAS, PO Box 384, Terra Alta, WV 26764

Thank you again for your ongoing support,

Kelly Fike, President TACAS and the Members of TACAS Board of Directors

Alpine Lake Residents

Terra Alta, WV 26764

Dear Friends,

Another year has passed, and we hope that this greeting finds all of our friends and

supporters doing well during these uncertain times. While we were unable to hold our annual 4th

of July celebration this year, we are once again reaching out to those who were kind enough to

have helped our cause in the past. As everyone knows we are a volunteer fire department that

continues to serve our community and surrounding area. We would like to ask if you would be

willing to make a contribution to the Terra Alta Volunteer Fire Department to help with the

normal expenses that we incur in keeping the equipment and building up to date. Any and all

assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Terra Alta Volunteer Fire Department

Robert A. Kirk

UPDATE: November 13, 2020

FACE COVERINGS REQUIRED All West Virginians age (9) nine and older are required to wear a face-

covering at all indoor public places where six feet of social distancing cannot be maintained.

For children ages (2) two years old through (8) eight years old, face coverings are not required. However, it is

recommended that parents or guardians use their best judgment as to when to assist their children, ages 2
