A Note from School Counseling Regarding Elective Changes
With the first marking period behind us, we are no
longer making elective changes. We feel strongly that
any class transition after a whole marking period of
missed instruction would not be in the best interest of
the student or program and may significantly impact
student schedules.
Support the school library, and get some holiday shopping done at the
same time! Our Barnes and Noble book fair is coming soon. This year,
our Barnes and Noble book fair date is Wednesday, December 4th.
How does this work? It's easy, just shop in the store December 4th and
use your voucher (coming soon) or mention Short Pump at the register.
Our school library will receive a percentage of the sales to use for
purchasing additional books for our collection. Online shopping counts
as well. Be sure to share this with all of your friends and family as their
purchases can count as well. Be watching for the voucher number you
will use for online sales to come out closer to the date. It's a win win!
As we get closer to the holiday season, we would like for our
Pumas to participate with our canned food drive to assist Henrico
Christmas Mother. Henrico Christmas Mother is a nonprofit
organization providing holiday assistance to qualified Henrico
County families with children, seniors, and disabled adults. In
honoring our long-standing tradition of neighbors helping
neighbors, we welcome people of all customs and beliefs who
may be in need of assistance during the holiday season. The
SPMS Canned Food Drive will begin Monday, November 11th-
Tuesday, November 19th. Students will turn in their canned food
items to their 1st block teacher. This holiday season, let’s help our
neighbors in need!
Puma Families, join us Monday, November 18th 5-9pm for our next Spirit
Night of the year! You can dine at three of our SPMS family-owned businesses—
Anokha, Rudino’s or Tazza Kitchen—and a percentage will come back to the school.

Our administrative team wants to hear your ideas about the vision of SPMS!
We are collecting input from parents, staff, and students as we review our current mission and vision statements which were written in 2013.
Please help us by completing the Vision Quest below. The survey will close on Friday 11/22.
