HCAA CONTRIBUTIONS

From Affiliates

Our Affiliate Members can choose to “sponsor” a student if they wish. The Affiliate would know that they are helping to contribute to the industry, as a whole, plus be open to some advertising opportunities that state that they are sponsoring a Student through the Diploma.

We do note that regardless of Affiliate support, the HCAA will be committing to providing at least one Cadetship per year for years to come.

From Members

The best way for HCAA members to contribute to this initiative is for the company they work for to become a Corporate Member. All funding received from Corporate Member subscriptions will be placed into an “Education” fund which will only be used for education purposes. The money in this fund may used for the following:

• The development of Diploma resources. This will include the continual update of the resources as these are never static. This will include market updates in products, materials and design methods.

• Updates on current versions of the National Construction Code and Australian Standards for our Members.

• Technical CPD presentations from Manufacturers and Suppliers.

• Marketing to future Consultantsthrough the avenues of:

TAFE colleges, High Schools and Careers Days

All of these things will help bring young people to our industry and provide future employment opportunities for our Corporate Members.

TAFE (NSW) DIPLOMA DELIVERY

At this stage, the Diploma will be delivered at TAFE (NSW) and run as a face-to-face course in Sydney from July 2020. The HCAA and TAFE (NSW) are already investigating how this course may be delivered online, however this delivery module is not scheduled for completion for few years yet.

FUTURE FUNDING ANDSUPPORT FROM THE HCAA

The HCAA is in the process of liaising with State and Federal Governments with the aim to amend the current system so that Diploma subsidies are available to students studying this Diploma outside their state of residence.

We will provide updates on any progress in this matter as they become available.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Contact Rodney Ware (Chair of Education Sub-Committee) on 0418 645 932 or [email protected] to discuss this opportunity or view the full course outline uaing this link:

https://training.gov.au/Training/Details/CPC50612

What subsidies are there for successful candidates?

We note that this is NOT an Apprenticeship or Traineeship (which are recognised government initiatives that may attract additionalsubsidies from relevantState departments).

However, should yoube accepted for the Cadetship, you may be able to contact your local/state governmentto see if additional subsidiesare available to you.

What does thediploma cost?

At this stage, the details of the Cadetship are being finalised. Hence, why we are asking for EOI’s. Once this is developed a little further, costs associated with the Cadetship (for the Student and the Affiliate) will be published via the HCAA.

TAFE (NSW)DIPLOMA DELIVERY

We note that at this stage, the Diploma will only be delivered at TAFE (NSW) in 2020. The intent of TAFE (NSW) is to run this course in Sydney, face-to-face, starting in July 2020.

The HCAA and TAFE (NSW)are already investigating how this course may be delivered in an online platform. However, this may be a number of years away to allow composition of the content.
