Introduction: MRF Ltd. has recruited Engineering Graduates and post graduates through campus interviews to be placed in different departments (Production, Maintenance, Safety, R & D etc.,) in different plants in various parts of India. These students are good in their academic records but need to be trained on what the industry expects from them. 12 days of technical sessions were provided by experienced faculty members of MRF Ltd., to these students. These technical sessions will help them to understand about the machinery, process & technology. But these students should also be given an outline on how to “Move along with Men!” while they enter into the real world. The Assignment: We were given an assignment to conduct a TWO DAYS WORKSHOP on “Supervisory Skills & Communication Skills” to these budding engineers. There were a few tasks involved:

To help students to understand that they are “no more students” and should be ready for a transformation to be a professional.

To prepare the students to face the corporate world

To prepare the students to face different types of fellow human beings To prepare the students to be a team player first and then a team leader

The Program: We have developed a program content to address all the above tasks in a combination of lecture & Presentations (25%), individual assignments (25%), group assignments (25%) and activities (25%). The assignments and role-plays were so interactive and the response was spontaneous. The trainer was able to take the participants along with him during the journey of the training. We submit the synopsis of the program along with the feedback of the participants for your information & perusal.

Participants were given a simple task on “Resources planning & resources sharing” by

way of a group activity. This was a thought provoking & fun based game which

introduced the concept in their minds in a simple yet powerful way.

A team which was found to be struggling in the beginning have managed to complete

the task successfully. However, the team which was seem to be comfortable had lost

just because it failed in making a proper communication.

Participants were made to understand how they need to be pro-active than re-active.
