WHO WE ARE

POWER OF CONNECTIVITY

We established the TBAEP Scholarship Fund, funded by a portion of your membership dues, our raffle activities and the Board’s fiscal policies. Internships work in both directions – we have a group of well-educated students ready to work and we provide them local contacts to facilitate mentorships and employment opportunities.

Our web site, www.tbaep.org has become an effective communication tool. Our newsletter has been delivered to Tampa Bay area professionals monthly, since 1993! Both tools contain valuable information and links to numerous sources on relevant topics.

TBAEP brings the power of connectivity; the ability to network with other EP in the Tampa Bay region that gives you access to innovative concepts and proven techniques through the experience of our members. We strive to provide meetings that are organized in a variety of formats including educational presentations, networking social hours and community projects for volunteer opportunities.

Our Mission — To encourage member participation, to promote ethical standards for the profession, and to recognize the outstanding achievements of environmental professionals. To educate and recruit students and young participants into the environmental professional field. To participate in environmentally related community projects. To provide a forum for information exchange and contacts with other professionals throughout the state and nationwide. To meet on a regular basis and offer networking opportunities in a social environment. To participate in FAEP and NAEP sponsored events, such as the Annual Conference.

The Student Chapter effort provides an opportunity for practicing professionals to invest in our future by connecting with students at local campuses. We sponsor presentations describing a day in the life of an EP so that students can gain a better understanding of what is in store for them in their future endeavors. Resume building and career workshops are a vital part of this process.

We continue to hold service projects including coastal cleanups, Brazilian pepper removal and volunteering with the non-profit Metropolitan Ministries.

Our monthly, educational lunch meetings include presentations on a variety of current and relevant topics. We also have networking opportunities through joint professional meetings and evening social events.

Our annual member-appreciation event is a wonderful evening for EP to relax and enjoy their accomplishments during the past year, including our Environmental Excellence Award.

The Tampa Bay Association of Environmental Professionals (TBAEP) is the Tampa Bay area chapter of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals (FAEP). We are all under the parent National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP).

TBAEP is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the general membership.

TBAEP provides a forum for the exchange of ideas with other environmental professionals and the opportunity to participate in chapter and community events.

TBAEP members come from diverse professional backgrounds offering you a broad-based networking organization. Our membership includes public sector employees, academics and students, engineering firms, analytic laboratories, industrial companies, environmental planners, attorneys and environmental scientists. Our body consists of community leaders as well as students entering the Environmental Professional field.
