CHECK INCHECK INHELPFUL hints & TIPS
May I bring more than one horse?Yes, however this clinic is designed as a learning experience for you. Therefore, you should bring the horse that allows you to concentrate and benefit the most from this experience.
May I bring my well behaving stallion?Although we do not dispute the temperament of your horse, keep in mind stallions can create problems with other horses. Stall space is limited. We will do our best to place a stallion next to geldings. Please take all possible precautions when handling or tying your stallion and keep a safe distance from other horses.
What equipment should I bring? That is all listed below but you should bring everything you would need to maintain your self and your horse(s) for the length of the stay. Anything you find yourself lacking will be available for purchase through David’s Western Store and NRS.
Will I have a chance to ask questions? It is our intent to provide all the individual help our time constraints allow. It is important to take full advantage of the one-on-one help that is available and also learn from listening while others receive individual instruction.
May I videotape with my own camera? You are more than welcome to videotape your runs. However, we ask that you do not videotape the lectures.
Is food provided? Each student’s tuition includes lunch each day. Clinics arefrom 8am-5pm both days. Breakfast is at 8 and lunch is at 12. Breakfast may be purchased in the NRS Ranch Cafe during the clinic.
I can’t make it to the first day of the clinic, is that okay?We would love to have you here for the entire clinic; however, we do understand that today’s busy world may interfere with your fun. Full tuition is required regardless of attendance but we will do our best to catch you up on what you missed.
I’m under 18 years of age, is that okay?We accept and encourage the attendance of people of all ages; however, to participate, the student must be at least 10 years old. Any participant under age 14 must have a parent in the clinic also or observing on the sidelines at all times. Students under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian present to sign a release form.
Are there hook-ups for my living quarters trailer?Yes. There are electrical hook-ups, but you must bring extension cords and water hoses. There are no sewer connections so all waste must be contained.
Are spectators welcome, and if so, is there a charge?Yes, anyone may audit the clinic and participate in any discussions for a fee of $50 per day. Guests of students are welcome to watch.
Can my family hang around during the clinic?Yes, we would love to have them.
Can I bring my dog?Yes. If you bring your dog, we ask that it stay tied to your trailer, in your vehicle/trailer or on a leash at all times! If you rent a bunkhouse or cabin, you will be required to pay a refundable $100.00 pet deposit when you book in order to bring your dog.
Can I bring a grill? You are welcome to bring a gas grill if you wish, as the bunkhouses do not have kitchenettes. They do have microwaves and mini fridges though. There is a great patio area with an open fire grill and wood available in front of the bunkhouses.
What is the check in process? Please meet us in the NRS Ranch Cafe at 8 am Saturday morning. There you will receive your name tag and be required to sign the liability waiver if you have not done so already. If you have rented a bunkhouse, cabin or hookup, you don't have to check in. Just enter the code that you received via email and text and let yourself in. Please call 940-626-9192 if you need any help.
