    you woulddo in the name ofcharity? Well, TVpersonality HansenLee conducted anauction in a freezingcold venue ... withhis t-shirt off. Of course,none of the audiencemember at Twestival KLcomplained. Have youseen Hansens ripped body?Its amazing.

    Anyway, the actual reasonwhy over 220 social mediausers gathered at a shop-ping mall in Kuala Lumpurlast Saturday was to hangout with like minded people

    and have lots of fun andmore important do good.Twestival KL, which is part ofthe global Twestival move-ment, brings social mediausers together to raise fundsto benefit local charities andthe first Twestival KL, organ-ised in 2009, raised overRM11, 000.

    Hosted by Lee, Elaine Dalyand Will Quah, the fifth edi-tion of the event collectedmore than RM30, 000 thanksto the charitable people andorganisations who lent theirsupport to the good cause.

    This is a good way tobring social media users

    together for a charitablecause. People could givedirect donations or makebids on the items we auc-tioned at the event, saidTwitter KL organiser NikiCheong.

    The audience membershad the chance to bid on avariety of items, includinga Harimau Malaya jerseysigned by two of its play-ers, sponsored by local andinternational organisations.The attendees, who had to

    pay a minimal donation ofRM50 entry fee, also hadthe chance to win high-tealuncheon vouchers, limitededition Moleskine notebooksand smartphones during thelucky draw sessions.

    Corporation has pledgedto match our fundraisingamount up to RM10, 000. Allthe money thats raised fromTwestival KL will go to thecharity of our choice, saidCheong. The proceeds will goto the non-profit organisa-tion Persatuan Kanak-KanakIstimewa Hulu Langat inSelangor which serves as adrop-in centre for childrenwith special needs. Theyare raising funds to builda one-stop centre and theTwestival KL team hopes tocontribute what we can tohelp the organisation con-tinue to do their good work,

    he added.The crowd was alsoentertained by the live per-formances by local artistessuch as Elvira, Ray Cheong,Carmen Soo, Vince Chongand Liang. They also had theopportunity to meet some ofthe local Twitterverse celeb-rities including Cheong, JasonLioh and Chee Ching.
