Chantal was a 22-year-old newlywed ringing in the new year with her husband when she woke up and couldn’t feel her legs. Six months later, she heard the words, “you have multiple sclerosis.”

In 2017, the MS Society, along with Biogen and Brain Canada, launched the call for research proposals for the first Canadian cohort that will study the progression of MS over time. The goal of this $7+ million initiative is to unlock the mysteries surrounding MS progression.

“A study like this could mean an end to the guessing game,” says Chantal.

Your fundraising goes towards critical research that can help change the future for Canadians living with MS, so let’s make this most successful MS Walk season yet!

Make a $50 personal donation to show your commitment to ending MS.

Tell 3 family members that you’re participating in the Mandarin MS Walk and ask for a $20 donation. That’s $60 towards your goal.

Post on social media about why you’re walking to end MS and ask for a $10 donation. You’ll raise $40 when four of your friends and followers heed the call.

mandarin ms walk checklist On the night before the Mandarin MS Walk, make sure that you…

❑ Complete the donation tracking form neatly and sign the waiver on the bottom of the form. Be sure to provide your donors’ full contact information so that those who donated $20 or more will receive their tax receipts.

❑ Fill out the participant information form to include the dollar amount you are submitting on event day, total funds raised to date and your reward choice (if applicable).

❑ Pack your donation tracking form and participant information form with any cash and/or cheques to submit at check-in. Don’t worry, plastic resealable bags will be available at the tune up table if you need it.

All forms are available on your Participant Centre. You can also send a request for these to walk@mssociety.ca or call us at 1-888-822-8467, and we will send them to you.
