In order to prevent confusion and/or conflict I feel it is important thateverybody understands the level of commitment and expectations the

privilege of being a football player entail.It is important that all parties understand that football is NOT a

mandatory activity. Being a part of this program is a privilege that can betaken from you at any time. You choose to accept this challenge. You mayalso choose not to at any time. You may also choose not to agree with therules and guidelines of this contract. However, it is mandatory to sign,accept and follow the rules outlined in this agreement if you wish to keep the

privilege of being a team member.The lessons taught in high school athletics are enumerable. Football

will help teach the meaning of such words as COMMITMENT,DEDICATION, SELFLESSNESS and CHARACTER . Not all will bestrong enough to make the needed sacrifices. Those that do will gain greatrewards and have a bunch of fun!

Team Rules1. No profanity2. No alcohol, drugs or tobacco

3. No unexcused absences or tardiness from any mandatory football activity4. No disrespect of any proper authority figure.5. No substandard grades

Consequences*Swearing at a coach is 100% unacceptable. The first offense is a half-game suspension.The second will result in immediate dismissal from the team. General profanity willresult in on-field discipline.*Any violation of the drug/alcohol policy AT ANY TIME DURING THE YEAR willresult in immediate suspensions from the next five football contests. During this periodyou will still be required to attend all mandatory football activities. A second violationwithin a 365-day period will result in immediate dismissal from the program.*Unexcused absences: 1st offense: on-field discipline. 2nd offense: one gamesuspension. 3rd offense: dismissal from the team.*Any tardy is counted as one-half an unexcused absence*Disrespect of any coach or teacher will not be tolerated. Each instance will be dealt withbased on severity AS JUDGED BY COACH HOOVER. Three instances of any type willresult in dismissal from the team.I understand that

* I am about to make a commitment to be a member of the JV or Varsity footballprogram.*The level of time and commitment expected will exceed that of any middle school orrecreation sport.*Although I am encouraged to take part in other activities, I understand that mandatoryfootball activities will be given priority over any non-academic conflicts of time.*THE STATE FAIR IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE EXCUSE TO MISS PRACTICE.EVEN IF IT IS A SCHOOL FIELD TRIP. Any player choosing to miss practice andgo to a fun event such as the fair will be dismissed from the team. Football isabout sacrifice and commitment. Go to the fair on the weekends or after practice.*I MUST attend all mandatory football activities.Only a doctors excuse, illness or family emergency will constitute an excused absence.*Family vacations are not considered a family emergency AFTER the freshman season.Once you have been in the program for a year, you know the deal.*Any break or long weekend does not mean we will not practice. Your commitment tothis program runs from beginning to end.*I understand that during the short time that football season and the winter sports

seasons run together, I may attend my winter sports team practices in a voluntarymanner when time allows BUT ONLY on MONDAY and TUESDAY of each week.From Wednesday to Friday you will be focused on football. Athletic department policystates that if participating in those practices you WILL NOT take part in ANYconditioning drills. Instead you need to limit yourself to skill development only. Also,athletic department policy as of the 2005-06 school year dictates that no athlete cancompete in a winter season sporting contest until the fall current sports season ends.That is a CCHS athletic department policy and has nothing to do with Coach Hoover.*Football=Commitment*Any violation of the drug/alcohol policy will result in immediate action.*I will be accountable for all my actions*I must abide by all team rules and procedures at all times.*Being a member of this program is a privilege not a right and can be taken away fromme at any time.*ALL work schedules must be made around the football schedule. Jobs are not an excuseto miss practice. If you do youll get fired from football.*If I dont agree with these terms I may choose not to participate in football.*If any gray area arises the coaching staff has the right and responsibility to handle thatas we see fit.
