Top Story - The Robert Morris University football team will look for its second straight win this Saturday, Oct. 6, at Noon as the Colonials travel east to take on in-state rival Saint Francis at DeGol Field in the first of seven-consecutive Northeast Conference (NEC) matchups to close the regular season. RMU is coming off of a thrilling, 31-28, victory in the program’s inaugural meet-ing with Lafayette last Saturday. The Leopards came into the game 3-0 and receiving votes nationally, but Greg Langer’s 33-yard field goal with 19 seconds left set the final margin. Marcelis Branch was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week after tal-lying 15 tackles and forcing two turnovers. The Colonials finished with 386 yards of total offense and won on Homecoming for the 14th time in their past 18 tries. RMU also moved to 67-4 all-time when scoring 30+ points. RMU enters Saturday’s action having won six straight over Saint Francis. After facing the Red Flash, RMU will remain on the road as it makes the trek to Bryant Saturday, Oct. 13, before returning home to meet Central Connecticut State the following week.

Quick Stat of the Afternoon - Senior Jeff Sinclair posted a career-high 285 yards of total offense in last Saturday’s win over Lafayette as he threw for 201 yards and ran for 84 more. It ranked as one of the top 10 highest such totals in program history and marked the highest single-game total in that category since Drew Geyer (2002-05) posted 313 yards of total offense Oct. 29, 2005. The fact that Robert Morris came out victorious after Sinclair’s effort should come as no surprise as RMU improved to 5-1 (.833) all-time when Sinclair accounts for at least 240 yards of total offense. The Colonials have scored at least 30 points in five of those six games, averaging 33 points per outing. One of the more memorable such games in which Sinclair excelled was Sept. 18, 2010 when RMU stunned No. 15 Liberty, 30-23, behind 253 yards of Sinclair's total offense. RMU’s single-game record for total offense is 429, set by Rich Demaio (2000-03).

Saturday’s Opponent - Saint Francis is one of just three opponents Robert Morris faced in each of the first 18 years the Colonials fielded an intercollegiate program, joining fellow NEC foes Central Connecticut State and Wagner. All-time the Colonials are 15-2-1 (.861) against the Red Flash and enter Saturday’s game on a six-game winning streak against Saint Francis. RMU won the 2011 meeting, which was the first-ever home night game in program history, by jumping out to a 35-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 45-14 win. On This Date (Oct. 6) in Robert Morris Football History - The only game in program history in which Robert Morris did not played on a Saturday came on Oct. 6, 1995 when the Colonials trav-eled to Gannon for a Friday night kickoff in Erie, Pa. Despite having advantages in passing yards, total yards of offense, turnover margin, time of possession and third-down conversion percent-age, RMU dropped an exciting, 30-29, decision to the Golden Knights. Gannon jumped out to a 16-3 halftime advantage and extended its cushion to 30-10 early in the fourth quarter. However, the Colonials came storming back, scoring three touchdowns in a span of 6:24. At the time, with no overtime in NCAA football, the Colonials elected to go for the lead with a two-point conver-sion with 1:28 remaining, but their pass attempt fell incomplete. Tim Hall (1994-95) rushed for 126 yards on 20 carries while Andy Scruggs (1994-95) threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns. Nate List (1994-97) led the defensive effort with 11 tackles.

Head Coach Joe Walton19th Season - Pittsburgh ’57

At the forefront of the football renaissance at Robert Morris University throughout its 19-year history is Joe Walton, who has built the Colonials from a fledgling program into one of the top Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) teams in the region. The one constant associated with the program, Walton was named the first head coach July 27, 1993. He started the program from scratch, completing every-thing from hiring assistant coaches to purchasing equipment to recruiting student-athletes for the team’s inaugural season in 1994. Walton’s fingerprints are all over the football pro-gram, and to prove that, RMU has played its home games since 2005 in a stadium that bears his name. During his tenure, Walton has led Robert Morris to the

first Northeast Conference championship in 1996, guided RMU to a perfect 10-0 season in 2000 and in 2010 helped lead the Colonials to the NEC’s inaugural bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs with their league-high sixth regular-season championship. “It’s hard to believe,” Walton speaks on how fast time has elapsed. “I’ve said this many times before, and I mean it when I say that this situation is one of the best things that has ever happened to me in my life. It happened at the right time. Before this position became available, I felt I was too young to quit coaching, but I wasn’t anxious to get back into pro football. When this came along, it was the per-fect fit. This situation was the perfect opportunity for me to continue to do what I like to do, and I’ve loved every minute of it.” Under Walton’s tutelage, the Colonials have claimed outright NEC regular-season titles three times (1997, 1999, 2000) while sharing three others (1996, 1998, 2010). Walton led Robert Morris to back-to-back ECAC Bowl victories in 1996 and 1997, and in 1999 and 2000 he guided RMU to a pair of NCAA I-AA mid-major national crowns according to Don Hansen’s National Weekly Football Gazette. In 2010, Walton added to his legacy by engineering the Colonials on an eight-game winning streak for a share of the NEC regular-season title and the NEC’s first bid in the NCAA FCS Playoffs. In the process he picked up his 100th career victory in the collegiate ranks.

Joe Walton Stadium (Attendance: 4,384) - Junior Jeff Sinclair threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more scores as Robert Morris rolled to its second straight win with a 45-14 vic-tory over in-state rival Saint Francis in the first home night game in the program's history. RMU scored on five of its seven possessions in the first half in building a 35-0 halftime lead en route to the victory. Sinclair gave Robert Morris a 7-0 lead at the 2:10 mark of the first quarter when he connected with senior tight end Shadrae King for a 24-yard touchdown to cap a nine-play, 73-yard drive. In the second quarter the Colonials exploded for 28 points, scoring on four consecutive pos-sessions to take control of the game. Sinclair gave RMU a 14-0 advantage when he split the defense down the middle and raced untouched 64 yards for a touchdown with 12:08 left in the first half. Just four and-a-half minutes later, Sinclair hooked up with King for the second time, this time for a 16-yard touchdown pass and a 21-0 Robert Morris lead. Redshirt senior running back Jamar Cromwell got in on the act with 1:49 remaining before halftime by catching a 25-yard touchdown pass from Sinclair to increase RMU's lead to 28-0. On the second play of SFU's next drive, quarterback Cory Nielsen was intercepted by senior defensive back Alex Tarr, who made an acrobatic pick near the home sideline. Two plays later Sinclair found daylight again and scampered 22 yards for a touchdown and a 35-0 Robert Morris lead. The lead swelled to 42-0 in favor of the Colonials on their second possession after intermis-sion when freshman running back Duane Mitchell scored from six yards out to cap a six-play, 39-yard drive at the 7:59 mark of the third quarter. Sinclair finished the evening 10-for-15 passing for 155 yards, three touchdowns and an inter-ception and became the first quarterback in school history to eclipse the 100-yard rushing pla-teau in a game, carrying five times for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, RMU held Saint Francis to 227 yards of total offense while forcing four turnovers and registering three sacks. Picking up sacks for Robert Morris were junior defensive lineman Steve Mitchell and sopho-more defensive lineman Chris Thompkins , while senior linebacker Jon Krepps and junior defen-sive lineman Cory Nolton teamed up for another. Notes: A total of 4,384 fans packed Joe Walton Stadium, the largest crowd in the facility's seven-year history and the sixth official sellout at the venue ... Mighty Marcelis - True freshman Marcelis Branch earned a unique distinction as he was named Northeast Conference (NEC) Defensive Player of the Week and the NEC Rookie of the Week this past Monday. Branch, starting in just his third collegiate game, helped RMU to a victory over previously undefeated Lafayette, a squad which was receiving votes in both major national polls entering the game. In earning this pair of awards, Branch became the first Colonial in program history to earn conference defen-sive and rookie honors in the same season, let alone the same week. He is also just the third Colonial, joining Nick Downs (1997-2000) and Mike Niklos (2003-07), to claim each of these accomplishments during an entire career. Branch had a huge impact on the game as he forced two turnovers, helping put points on the board for RMU, while also contributing a team season-high 15 tackles, 12 of which were of the solo variety. Branch’s 15 tackles tied him for the second-highest figure by a Robert Morris freshman in a single game and the most since James Noel (2002-05) posted 15 in 2002. Picking Up Steam - Greg Langer has settled in nicely as RMU’s starting placekicker, as the senior has hit 10 straight field goal attempts and 14 of his last 16 in the last 13 games. Langer finished tied with Charlie Leventry of Duquesne for the Northeast Conference lead in both field goals (12) and field goals per game (1.09) in 2011. Thanks to his 27-yard field goal against Duquesne in the 2011 season finale (11/19), Langer broke the RMU school record for consecutive field goals made. Former kicker Jeff Carlo (1998-2001) had converted seven straight over the course of the 1998 and 1999 sea-sons, while former kicker Michael Walser (2005-07) closed out the 2007 campaign by hitting seven straight field goals. Langer has not taken an easy path to the record either as six of his past 10 field goals have been converted from farther than 35 yards.

Winner, Winner - Senior quarterback Jeff Sinclair led an eight-play, 67-yard to set up the game-winning field goal last Saturday against Lafayette. In doing so, he became only the third quarterback in RMU history to lead at least four game-winning drives in the fourth quarter (or overtime) in his career. Additionally, he is one of just two Colonials to lead such a game-winning drive in three different years. Erik Cwalinski (2005-08) holds the Robert Morris record with five game-winning drives in his career.

Bouncing Back - Although Robert Morris dropped its NEC opener to defending league champion Albany, history suggests that RMU could bounce back in league play. In four of the previous six seasons in which the Colonials dropped their conference lidlifter, they rebounded to post a winning NEC record, including in 2001 when they finished 6-1, as they started a six-game winning streak with a win over Saint Francis.

Experience Counts - When taking a look down the Robert Morris roster, the Colonials seem to have a bevy of experience at the defensive line position. Defensive linemen R.J. Cook, Farren Mason, Sam Miller, Steve Mitchell, Nolan Nearhoof and Chris Thompkins have combined for 95 starts during their time at RMU. Due to injuries, each member of the sextet saw starting assignments during the 2011 season. Mitchell and Nearhoof lead the way with 26 starts each followed by Miller with 25, although the first 22 of Miller's career actually came when he was a member of the offensive line. Mason is next in line, having earned the nod 13 times in his career.

Start Me Up - Steve Mitchell enters Saturday’s game with the most consecutive starting assignments of any active Colonial. Mitchell has started 26 straight games at defensive end. A.J. Dalton is second in that category with 21 straight starts on the offensive line. Jeff Sinclair is the Colonials’ active leader in overall starts with 29.

Joe Walton Stadium (Attendance: 3,524) - Senior Greg Langer knocked through a 33-yard field goal with just 19 seconds remaining in regula-tion to lift Robert Morris to a 31-28 victory over previously undefeated Lafayette in the inaugural meeting between the two programs in front of a standing-room-only crowd. Langer’s winning boot, which was his 10th consecutive made field goal--extending his own program record, came after an eight-play, 67-yard drive that began on RMU’s own 17-yard line with 2:23 remain-ing. A key play in the drive was a 43-yard completion from Jeff Sinclair to Donte Jeter as the latter outjumped a Leopard defender who was draped over him. Sinclair accounted for a career-high 285 yards of total offense, one of the top 10 single-game totals in RMU history, against the Leopards, a team which was receiving votes in both national polls entering the week. He rushed 13 times for 84 yards, including a touch-down, and threw for 201 yards and an additional two scores through the air. Sinclair also became the third Colonial ever to surpass 60 touchdowns responsible for and the fifth Colonial to reach 5,000 yards of total offense in a career. Jeter caught a career-high seven passes for a career-best 131 yards and has back-to-back 100-yard receiving efforts for the first time in his career. While the offense certainly had some significant performances, a number of Colonials stood out on the defensive side of the ball as well as RMU forced three turnovers and scored a defensive touchdown. Freshman Marcelis Branch forced two turnovers by Lafayette in the first half. He intercepted a pass to halt a Leopard drive before drill-ing Leopard wide receiver Mark Ross to force a fumble, which was subsequently recovered by sophomore linebacker Mike Neilson. Neilson scooped up the ball, his first-ever fumble recovery, and rumbled into the end zone to open the scoring fewer than seven min-utes in while subsequently scoring a touchdown for the first time in his career. The play marked the first defensive touchdown for RMU in its past 30 games, dating to the 2009 season. Branch had an amazing day defensively as he also posted a team season-high 15 tackles, 12 of which were of the solo variety, in addition to his two forced turnovers. Senior Brad Banas posted 10 tackles, tying his career high that he set in RMU’s home opener Sept. 8. Banas added a career-best 3.0 tack-les for loss, including a sack that helped force a Lafayette punt.

Last RMU GameRank and File - Robert Morris played against a nationally ranked opponent for the fifth time in school history when it opened the season at North Dakota State. However, it was the first time that RMU had ever squared off with a team that sat among the top 10 in the country. In fact, NDSU currently sits No. 1 in the Coaches’ Poll and is ranked No. 1 by The Sports Network. The Colonials’ loss to the Bison dropped them to 2-3 (.400) all-time against ranked foes. Although Albany, RMU’s second opponent, is not currently nationally ranked, they are right outside the top 25 in both major FCS polls. Additionally, Lafayette is earning votes nationally, which means three of RMU's first four opponents are currently garnering votes. Langer's Leg - Greg Langer knocked through his first career game-winning field goal in Saturday’s win over Lafayette, a kick which came three weeks after he converted a career-long 49-yard field goal vs. Albany (9/8).

Go Deep - Junior wide receiver Donte Jeter caught a career-high seven passes for a career-best 131 yards in last Saturday’s win over Lafayette. That perfor-mance came just one game after he notched 113 yards receiving at Dayton (9/15). With those two efforts, Jeter became the first Colonial to post back-to-back 100+ receiving performances since Sherrod Evers (2006; 2008-09) did it in the first two games of the 2008 season when he tallied 159 and 118 against Morehead State and Bucknell, respectively. Additionally, Jeter caught a career-long 77-yard pass at Dayton (9/15), the longest in the program’s past 45 games.

Foot Joy - One of the most important aspects that senior Jeff Sinclair brings to the quarterback position at Robert Morris is his versatility. In a 31-28 vic-tory vs. Lafayette on Homecoming (9/29), Sinclair rushed for an 8-yard touch-down in the second quarter that gave the Colonials a 28-7 lead. In 29 career games, Sinclair has already rushed for 15 touchdowns. To put that in perspec-tive, prior to Sinclair becoming the starter under center at RMU, quarter-backs combined for 16 rushing touchdowns in the first 156 games of the pro-gram’s history.

Any Given Saturday - Entering Saturday’s contest against Saint Francis, there are two Colonials who would have pretty good odds of seeing the field, judg-ing solely by their past histories. Redshirt seniors Sanchez Faugue and Sam Miller have each appeared in 37 games in their RMU careers, tops among active players. Faugue has the distinction of competing in each of the past 37 contests while Miller missed the 2010 season, but played in every game in 2008, 2009 and 2011. Seniors Steve Mitchell and Eric Lowry are in hot pursuit of this duo as they have seen the field in 36 and 34 games in their respective careers, including 28 straight by Mitchell.

Fresh Faces - As with any other year, the beginning of the 2012 season has featured the first collegiate appearances for some newer Colonials. A total of nine Colonials have made their first career starts thus far this season. Among the nine are a pair of true freshmen who have combined for five starts thus far as Max Robertson has started at left guard and Marcelis Branch at corner-back. Robertson and Branch were the second offensive lineman and corner-back, respectively, to make their first-career start in 2012, joining sophomore center Nick Faraci and sophomore cornerback Zach Washington. In total, 16 Colonials have competed in a RMU uniform for the first time this season.

Hanging Chad - Safety Cameron Chadwick emerged as a leader for the Robert Morris defense in 2011 and earned All-NEC Second Team honors as a result. Chadwick finished with a team-high 80 tackles last season, including 32 solo stops. Over his last 10 games dating back to last season, Chadwick has posted 84 tackles, an average of 8.4 per game.

Making the Grade - Defensive lineman Nolan Nearhoof was named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Second Team this past November, becoming only the second student-athlete in program history to earn two CoSIDA Academic All-American hon-ors. Nearhoof had previously become the third player in program history to be named to the ESPN Academic All-America Team in 2010 when he earned second team acco-lades. Nearhoof owns a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.73 as a biology major and joined former Colonials Jonathan LeDonne (2001-04) and Ray Gensler (2003-06) to earn the honor. LeDonne, a linebacker, was named to the 2004 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America First Team, while Gensler, a defensive lineman, was a two-time honoree, earning second team accolades in 2005 and first team honors in 2006. Nearhoof was also named as the NEC Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the sec-ond-consecutive year. He was the fourth player in program history to claim that honor but the first to ever win it twice.

Regulation Only - Entering Saturday’s game against Saint Francis, Robert Morris will have gone 62 consecutive games without having a contest go into overtime. That is the longest such streak in program history since the NCAA instituted overtime in college football for the 1996 season. In fact, every other current member of the NEC has played at least one overtime game since RMU’s last such contest. The last time the Colonials headed to overtime was Oct. 14, 2006 when RMU upset No. 19 Central Connecticut State, 23-17 (2OT), in what was the program’s first-ever game against a nationally ranked opponent. After Jacky Candy (2006) intercepted a Blue Devil pass right near the goal line in the second extra session, Erik Cwalinski (2005-08) hooked up with Mario Hines (2004, 2006-07) for a game-winning 14-yard touchdown pass on 3rd-and-12. That contest against the Blue Devils remains the only home game in RMU history to go into overtime.

Climbing the Charts - Robert Morris senior quarterback Jeff Sinclair is climbing the RMU record book in multiple categories as he concludes his career in 2012. With his two touchdown passes Sept. 15, Sinclair moved into sole possession of third place in career touchdowns responsible for at Robert Morris. He now has 61 and needs five more to pass Jake Newman (1994-97) for second place all-time in that department. Sinclair is also fifth in career completions (347), career passing yards (4,498), career touchdown passes (46) and career total offense (5,126) at RMU. His total offense per game average of 176.8 is second all-time at RMU, trailing only Tim Levcik’s (1998-01) top mark of 191.4. Despite being a quarterback, Sinclair actually is tied for fifth in career rushing touchdowns at Robert Morris (15) and moved into the top 10 in career rushing yards with his 84-yard performance against Lafayette.

Near a Record - Robert Morris senior defensive lineman Nolan Nearhoof not only stands up in the classroom but also on the football field. Nearhoof claimed his second-consecutive All-NEC First Team honor in 2011 despite missing the final two games due to injury. In doing so, Nearhoof became just the third player in the league, on offense or defense, to earn an all-conference first team award in both 2010 and 2011. He finished fourth on the team with 60 tackles last year, 24 of which were solo stops. He also led the Colonials in sacks (7.5) and tackles for loss (12.5), totals that were good enough to rank fourth and sixth, respectively, in the Northeast Conference. Nearhoof currently ranks as RMU's active leader in tackles (162), tackles for loss (24.5) and sacks (18.5). His 18.5 sacks are the second most all-time at RMU as he closes in on the program record of 19, which is currently held by Ray Gensler (2003-06).

For Starters - When Robert Morris took the field Sept. 29 against Lafayette, it sported its fourth starting lineup on offense in its fourth game. However, if 2011 was any indi-cation, RMU fans shouldn’t be surprised. Due to a number of injuries as well as changes with the depth chart, Robert Morris used nine different starting lineups on offense last season and has used 14 different starting combinations in its last 16 games. The start-ers actually stayed the same for three straight weeks in October 2011, but RMU had changes in its lineup from one week to the next throughout the early and late parts of the campaign. The Colonials were forced into starting three different quarterbacks and also had five different tailbacks/fullbacks start a game in 2011. The only returning Colonial on offense who started every game in 2011 is lineman A.J. Dalton.

Head Coach-In-Waiting John Banaszak

Robert Morris University Director of Athletics Craig Coleman, M.D., announced this past January that RMU Assistant Head Football Coach John Banaszak has been named the program's coach-in-waiting. Banaszak, who has spent the last nine years as an assistant coach and assistant head coachwith the Colonials, will take over for current head coach Joe Walton at the conclusion of the2013 season. "Coach Walton has done a tremendous job starting the program from scratch and developing it to its current level," Coleman said. "We are blessed to have another outstanding coach on our staff in Coach Banaszak to provide leadership and excellence when Walton retires." The 2011 season marked Banaszak's ninth season as a member of the Robert Morris footballcoach staff, including his fourth campaign as assistant head coach. Among his many duties with the program, Banaszak is responsible for tutoring the defensive line and the special teams unit. During Banaszak's time at Robert Morris, the Colonials have led the Northeast Conference intotal defense four times (2004, 2006, 2009 and 2010) and have finished in the top five in theleague on eight occasions. Banaszak was a key component to a 2010 defense that led the NEC in total defense, allowingan average of 312.6 yards per game, and coaching a defensive line that recorded 13 of RMU's21 sacks as the Colonials claimed the NEC's inaugural berth in the FCS Playoffs. In 2006, Banaszak helped tutor an RMU defense that led I-AA in total defense, allowing anaverage of just 228.36 yards per game. Under Banaszak's guidance, former defensive lineman Ray Gensler (2003-06) tied the RMUsingle-season school record for sacks with 11 in 2006 en route to earning All-NEC First Teamhonors. Gensler also established a career record in sacks with 19 thanks to 11 in 2006, andthe Robert Morris defensive line that season recorded 28 and-a-half of RMU's school record 34sacks. Eight of the 11 players in school history to earn All-NEC recognition on the defensive line have come under the tutelage of Banaszak, including Nolan Nearhoof, who led the Colonials with seven and-a-half sacks last year en route to being named to the 2011 All-NEC First Team. Prior to RMU, Banaszak served as the 30th head coach in Washington & Jefferson footballhistory, leading the Presidents to a record of 38-9 (.809) in his four seasons on the sidelinesbetween 1999 and 2002. In each of those four campaigns, he was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and ranks third on the college's all-time victory list. A 1975 graduate of Eastern Michigan with a bachelor's degree in health, physical educationand recreation, Banaszak signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers prior to the 1975season and was one of only three rookies to make the defending Super Bowl champion teamout of training camp. Primarily a special teams player on Pittsburgh's Super Bowl X championship team, Banaszakstarted five games the following season and then started at both right end and inside tackle in1977 before suffering a knee injury that forced him to the injured reserve list. Between 1978 and 1980, Banaszak started 45 regular-season games at defensive end as the Steelers won back-to-back Super Bowl championships. In Super Bowl XIII, Banaszak recorded six tackles, including a pair of sacks, and a fumble recovery in a 35-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, which garnered him Defensive Player of the Game honors. The following year in Super Bowl XIV, Banaszak finished with five tackles and a sack in a 31-19 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.

Robert Morris in the 2012 NEC StatsNo Tickets - When Robert Morris takes to its home field in front of a sellout crowd, good things seem to happen. The latest example came in the team’s 31-28, last-second, Homecoming victory over Lafayette, a team which was previously unbeaten and receiving votes in the national polls. RMU has won four consecutive games that have been sell-outs, a stretch which includes each of the last three Homecoming games. The first sellout at “The Joe” was also the first-ever game it hosted, Sept. 17, 2005.

Get To The Chopper - A quick glance at RMU’s record when broken down proves how important it is the Colonials get off to a good start in contests. When Robert Morris is leading at halftime, the program owns an all-time record of 86-12 (.878). When trailing at the break, Robert Morris owns a mark of 10-62-1 (.144). Even going into halftime tied is beneficial, as the Colonials own an overall record of 11-8 (.579) in such games.

The Magic Mark - Since the Colonials began play in 1994 there have been 71 games in which Robert Morris has scored 30 or more points. In those contests RMU boasts a record of 67-4 (.944), including a record of 39-4 (.907) in games in which the team scores between 30 and 39 points. In games in which the Colonials score 40 or more points, RMU is a perfect 28-0.

RMU Football Historical Tidbits - The inaugural running back at Robert Morris, the late Tim Hall (1994-95), rushed for 2,908 yards in his two seasons as a Colonial. Hall still owns the FCS season and career records for yards per carry, with his season record of 8.7 yards per carry set in 1994 and his two-year career record of 7.4 established in 1994 and 1995 ... Hall also ranks fourth all-time in the FCS in both rushing yards per game (153.1) and all-purpose yards per game (194.8) ... Former Colonial linebacker James Noel (2002-05) ranks fifth in the FCS record book for career tackles per game (10.7), while his career tackle total of 437 takedowns ranks 12th all-time ... Former linebacker and current assistant coach Alex DiMichele (2008-10) averaged 10 tackles per game over his three years in a Robert Morris uniform, which ranks 11th all-time in the FCS record book ... Robert Morris has led the nation in passing defense twice in the past 13 years. The Colonials topped the charts in both 1999, when they conceded just 80.80 yards per game through the air, and 2006, when they allowed only 88.70 yards per game via the pass.

Did You Know? - Robert Morris owns the all-time FCS record for the most consecutive quarters while holding an opponent scoreless. During the 1996 season, the Colonials went 15 straight quarters without allowing a single point. In fact, the record-setting streak occurred at the beginning of the sea-son. RMU posted three straight shutouts -- 20-0 against Mercyhurst (9/7), 38-0 against Butler (9/14) and 7-0 against Towson State (9/21) -- to open the campaign and then held Central Connecticut State (9/28) scoreless for the first three quarters before finally allowing a point for the first time all sea-son. In all, RMU went 234:04 before allowing a point in 1996. RMU went 9-2 (.818) in 1996, claiming a share of the NEC championship, and conceded just 12.9 points per game.
