What is food 2 give?
It’s a unique brand that will help people
save their food and serve it to the
people who cannot afford it.
It helps the environment by cutting food
wastage.
How and why this app was chosen? We got the idea from the retail shops such as Asda,
Tesco etc. as they reduce prices of food items at
night.
Furthermore our idea was to help people who are in
need and we thought that this would be the best
way since food is very important in our life.
This kind of application was never released to the
market this means that our app is unique.
Why will people invest? People will invest for this app because there are many
people who want to share food but they don’t know where
they can, so it’s just wasted.
This will give them a chance to share the food they have,
provide it to poor people.
Once the person can download the application, they will
have to pay a little amount to download the app.
There will be less investment for the app but the app will
be really useful.
How does it work? As our prototype is in two versions, desktop and mobile
which makes it easier for users.
They can simply fill out the contact us form with all the
details provided such as: their name, contact details, food
details, the quantity they have and whether they will drop
it off or they want us to pick it up from them.
Also on the website/app there is a map from which they
can find their nearest place to contact us on either by
phone or drop their food to us.
Business Model
So what’s our business model?
Firstly the target of this business is everyone who are 18+.
As we have thought of an app that will help everyone, no
matter where they are, it’s helpful for the business model.
As through this app there will be investment through all
the customers we have. However we won’t be investing
much for this app therefore it will be easier to make up for
the investment through customers when they buy the food
even at a little amount.
Business model As the purpose of “food2give” is to help homeless/poor
people and provide them with food as it’s essential, We
have kept the profit margin of £10-£15 in the beginning. It
is very little profit however as this app is similar to charity
therefore we kept a little profit margin as investment is
little as well.
However as the business gradually builds, the profit will
build up as well.
The business will earn income from when the customers
can download the app and when the people buy food.
Brand Name We had many brand names ideas Share food Food2share Givefood
The final idea that we came up with was Food2Give. We
chose this name as it explains the purpose of the business as
well as it would attract people’s eyes because when they look
at the brand name they would want to know more about it.
Brand Logo
Logo designs
Final logo
Brand logoWe chose this as our final logo by
having the idea of fork and knife as
it represents food, and hand as it
represents “give”. We decided to
go with the green and brown for
the colour as it represents the
environment, also matches the
theme for the prototype.
Future Improvements
Future improvements for our project is to
create a person log in, so the user can keep
track of everything.
Another improvement is to have functionality
to upload pictures to the contact form
Also improve the mobile app, and work on it to
upload it on app store and Google play.
Thank you for watching!
