Our Lash Lift treatment will lengthen and lift your own natural lashes from the root, creating a gorgeous curl! This treatment is great for those with long, straight, natural lashes and is designed to make your eyes stand out without the addition of extensions. The enemy of a Lash Lift? WATER! But fear not, only for the first day or so. Here are our top tips to ensure optimum results!

• Do everything possible to keep lashes dry for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Avoid the gym or any other activities that could cause perspiration for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Avoid spray tanning treatments for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Avoid hot steamy showers or baths for a minimum of 24 hours (cool to lukewarm water is fine.)

• Avoid swimming or saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzis for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Avoid putting contact lenses back in for a minimum of 24 hours and wear glasses instead.

• Be conscious when / opening your oven etc for steam hitting your face.

• Do not apply make-up or receive any other eye focused treatments for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Sleep on your back the night of the treatment.

• Avoid rubbing your eyes.

• Use a lash conditioner daily to nourish your lashes.

• Comb your lashes regularly in and upwards direction using a product free mascara wand.

Here at Nailco we offer a variety of Lash Extension Treatments to suit different needs. The aftercare advice is the same for all of our treatments. The correct aftercare is a huge factor in getting the optimum amount of time out of your Lash Extensions, so here are our top tips!

• Do everything possible to keep lashes totally dry for a minimum of the first 24 hours, however please see further guidance below for other water related activities.

• Avoid hot steamy showers or baths for a minimum of 48 hours (cool to lukewarm water is fine.)

• Avoid swimming or saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzis for a minimum of 48 hours.

• Do not apply any eye make up for a minimum of 24hrs after your treatment.

• Do not use any oil based (waterproof) mascara/ makeup.

• Use an oil free make up remover to clean the Lash Extensions and surrounding eye area.

• Be gentle with your Lash Extensions and try to avoid rubbing or touching them.

• Do not perm or tint your Lash Extensions.

• Never pick or pull your Lash Extensions.

• Ensure you keep on top of your Lash Extensions Maintenance. We have a separate ‘booking guide’ which covers the various timescales and options for Lash Extension Maintenance. You can find this in our Instagram bio or via our website.

• When the time comes to remove your lashes, this should only be done by a trained professional, preferably within the same salon where you had them applied.

The best way to describe our Brow Lamination treatment is ‘a lash lift’ for your brows! This revolutionary new treatment involves straightening eyebrow hairs via a chemical process. This allows us to fix the hairs into a uniformed direction to create the shape and style you desire. The enemy of a Brow Lamination? WATER! (The same as with our Lash Lift treatments.) But fear not, only for the first day or. Here are our top tips to ensure optimum results!

• Avoid the temptation to touch the brow area after treatment.

• Do everything possible to keep lashes dry for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Avoid the gym or any other activities that could cause perspiration for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Avoid hot steamy showers or baths for a minimum of 24 hours (cool to lukewarm water is fine.)

• Avoid swimming or saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzis for a minimum of 24 hours

• Avoid sun beds or exposure to direct sunlight for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Do not apply make-up or receive any other eye treatments for 24 hours

• Do not use Henna for a minimum of 48 hrs on the brow area

• Sleep on your back first night after treatment.

• No self-tanning products should be used on the face for 48 hours either side of treatment.

• Do not apply Retin-A, AHA or exfoliate around the brow area for three days either side of the treatment

• Pat face dry with towel after washing, no rubbing!

• Use a brow conditioner twice daily brushing through with a mascara wand. (Beautiful Brows castor oil is recommended) starting 24 hours after treatment.

• Tweezing in between appointments is to be avoided to maintain the best long term-shape of your brows.

We carry out our eyebrow and facial waxing treatments using either Hot wax or Strip Wax, (or a combination of both) depending on your skin type and needs. Proper aftercare of the waxed area is essential to keep you skin looking and feeling great, and to ensure you get the most out of your treatment.

• Avoid the temptation to over touch the waxed area after treatment. Touching can add dirt or oils to the area (from fingers/hands) and could clog the open pores, resulting in spots or irritation.

• Avoid the gym or any other activities that could cause perspiration for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Avoid spray tanning treatments for a minimum of 24 hours as your pores are still open.

• Avoid hot steamy showers or baths for a minimum of 24 hours (cool to lukewarm water is fine.)

• Avoid swimming or saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzis for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Do not apply make-up for at least 24 hours after your treatment.

• Avoid sun beds or exposure to direct sunlight for a minimum of 48 hours. This is so so important! After this time period, pay extra attention to the application of SPF, and we’d recommend going up a couple of factors.

• Make sure you are cleansing and moisturising the waxed areas in the morning and evenings using a sensitive skin cleanser and moisturiser.

• Do not apply Retin-A, AHA or exfoliate around the waxed area for three days either side of the treatment.

• Tweezing in between appointments is to be avoided to maintain the best long term-shape when it comes to brows.

From time to time we all need a little ‘me’ time, and our massage therapists can offer you just that! When it comes to aftercare post massage, this is something that is often overlooked. However, it shouldn’t be, As the massage process involves the release of toxins, it increases blood and lymph circulation and creates a cleansing process within the body. Here are our top tips for maximum wellness after your treatment.

• Drink water, water and more water for a minimum of 24 hours after your treatment to aid the cleansing process!

• Avoid alcohol for at least 24hrs after your treatment as massage is a detoxifying treatment and the combination of this with alcohol is not something we recommend.

• After the treatment, we recommend your first meal should be light to assist the body in it detoxification process.

• Don’t make any big plans! Get plenty of rest as you may feel tired after the treatment, this is perfectly normal!

• Gentle exercise is recommend after a massage. We recommend postural exercises to help with muscle tension as well as exercises that will assist with mobility. Yoga is a suitable and gentle option.

What exactly is Dermaplaning? We get asked this a lot! In short, it’s a procedure which involves the removal of dead skin cells from your face. Essentially, it is a form of exfoliation which removes dead skin cells, peach fuzz and unclogs pores. This results in, super glowy skin! As this treatment involves as blade directly onto your skin (don’t worry, its entirely painless) the application of the correct aftercare is super important!

• Drink water, water and more water for a minimum of 24 hours after your treatment!

• Avoid the temptation to touch the treated area after treatment. Your pores are open and any dirt transferred from your hands could cause irritation or infection.

• Avoid the gym or any other activities that could cause perspiration for a minimum of 48 hours.

• Avoid hot steamy showers or baths for a minimum of 48 hours. (cool to lukewarm water is fine.)

• Avoid swimming or saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzis for a minimum of 48 hours.

• Avoid sun beds or exposure to direct sunlight for a minimum of 72 hours. This is so so important! After this time period, pay extra attention to the application of SPF, and we’d recommend going up a couple of factors.

• Do not apply make-up for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Make sure you are cleansing and moisturising your face in the morning and evenings using a sensitive skin cleanser and moisturiser.

• Avoid using any products that contain Retin-A, AHA.

• Avoid exfoliating your face for at least a week after your treatment as this could irritate your skin.

As Dermaplaning is a deep exfoliant, it is normal for some clients to experience a break out afterwards. • Avoid overly hot baths or showers for a minimum of 24 hours, (cool to lukewarm water is fine.)

• Avoid the gym or any other activities that could cause perspiration for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Avoid wearing tight clothing for 24hrs after treatment to allow the area to breathe.

• Avoid swimming or saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzis for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Avoid spray tanning treatments of the waxed area for a minimum of 24 hours.

• Avoid the use of sun beds for a minimum of 24 hours as well as exposure to direct sunlight.

• To soothe and protect the skin, apply an antiseptic cream to the waxed area regularly for 3 days following your treatment.

• Moisturise every day after this to keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally.

• Exfoliate the area to ensure new hairs can grow through with ease, but please don’t be too rough as this can graze the skin and cause ingrown hairs.

• Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed hands.

• Avoid shaving the treatment area in between appointments as this can cause Ingrown hairs

• You will need at least 3-4 weeks growth of hair before it can be successfully removed by waxing. To maintain a smooth appearance, we recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks depending on ‘personal’ hair growth. You may notice a small amount of re growth after a week or so and this is perfectly normal. It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results.

Please be aware that slight soreness, small bumps or redness are a common and perfectly normal, temporary reactions to waxing. This can occur after any wax but is particularly reported after your first wax. This should subside over 24 - 48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or you feel unsure about anything, please do not hesitate to contact us.
