A leading shipping companyBaleària is a leading shipping company that specialises in passenger and cargo transport among the Balearic Islands and also as one of the largest operators in the Strait of Gibraltar. It also provides services in the Ca-ribbean. The company is now a reference as concerns service, innovation and social responsibility in the maritime transport sector.
Baleària operates routes between mainland Spain (the ports of Barcelo-na, Valencia and Denia) and the Balearic Islands in addition to being the only company that connects these islands together. The shipping company operates with an extensive and modern fleet of both ferries and fast ferries which are combined based on the travel distance and needs.
100% privately owned, Baleària directly employs more than 1,000 people between its ground and on-board services. Its headquarters are located in Dénia (Comunidad Valenciana) but there are 16 more offices.

For proof of identityAll passengers must prove their identity with a valid national identity docu-ment, passport, identity card from their country of origin or driver's licence.
Proof of residence, for discount purposesIf the Spanish Ministry of Public Works electronic system confirms the person fulfils the requirements to receive the residence discount, the pas-senger will only have to show valid proof of identity: DNI (Spanish national identity document for Spanish citizens over 14 years of age) or a national identity document/passport issued by another country (foreign residents). Otherwise, the passenger must submit a valid residence certificate in addi-tion to the aforementioned documents. More information at www.balearia.com.
Proof of large family status, for discount purposesThe original valid Large Family Booklet (issued by a Spanish government agency) or each passenger's individual card plus photocopies of the pages of the Large Family Booklet indicating the large family category, passenger's name, issue date and expiry date must be submitted.
Cancellation insuranceCancellation insurance may be purchased with non-refundable rates so the passenger may receive a refund of the price of the ticket if, due to causes of force majeure as indicated in the insurance conditions, the trip cannot be made. The insurance fee is 4% of the ticket price net any surcharges or discounts..

Luggage
Luggage does not need to be chec-ked. Luggage racks are available in the passenger lounges. Passengers without vehicles may only bring the luggage they can load in one step and handle themselves without any help.
Youth Card Discounts and Discounts for Senior Citizens over 60
The price of Tourist accommo-dation is discounted 20% except between 15th June and 7th September. Discounts are applied year-round to the Ceuta-Algeciras and Formentera-Ibiza routes.
Open return tickets
Passengers may purchase tickets with an open return date. To book your return date (subject to seat availability), call 902 160 180. The booking price is maintained until 15th January of the year following the booking date.

Online check-in
Once the booking is confirmed, elec-tronic boarding cards will automati-cally be sent to the email address provided. This way, passengers may bring them already printed on the day of travel and avoid unnecessary waiting at the ticket counters.
For some routes and ports, a mobile phone boarding card with a QR code can also be requested (the passen-ger must have a smartphone with an email account set up on it). Passengers with the right to certain discounts (large family, youth card or senior citizens over 60) must check in at the ticket counter.
The new Baleària website offers an easier and quicker buying process with the possibility of purchasing additional on-board services and more intui-tive browsing.
The specific travel agency login area also includes new functionalities:
Greater flexibility when making changes and modifications to bookings for passengers or vehicles.
A better structure so you can view information on a single screen (all of the booking information, price options and weekly timetables...).
A new section with all official notices issued for travel agencies as well as contacts with sales representatives.
Early booking of additional services with discounts for advance payment (superior accommodation, on-board meals, choice of outer cabin, cosmetic services...). Passengers receive vouchers which they may redeem on board.

Accommodations Baleària offers different accommodation options depending on the vessel.
Superior SeatAvailable on ferries+, these fully reclinable extra-relax seats are upholstered in leather and equipped with electrical sockets in the lounge area. On fast ferries, passengers receive one free drink.
Tourist Seat Seat lounges.

Lobby BarChairs and sofas in the common areas and cafeteria. On some ships, these seats are only available for sale in cases of high occupancy.
Cabin Generally for up to 4 people, with a full bath, air conditioning and wardrobes.

Pregnant women
Pregnant women travelling after 28 weeks of pregnancy must submit a medical certificate authorising tra-vel. Women more than 36 weeks pregnant, or 32 weeks if carrying twins, are not be allowed to board.
People with reduced mobility (PRM)
The ships feature adapted seats and toilets and wheelchair restra-int systems. Wheelchair accessible cabins are available on our ferries. The accesses vary depending on the ship; they may be viewed at www.balearia.com.
Babies and children
Baleària offers a wide range of services for families travelling with babies and small children. Plus, travelling on a ship means you can transport your car on-board with the convenience this offers as concerns moving car seats, travel cots and other items.

Minors between 14 and 18 years of age may travel unaccompanied only if they have a national identity docu-ment.
Passengers with special needs

ReservationsReservations must be made and a boarding card must be obtained for all animals regardless of whether they will be travelling in an on-board kennel or in their own carry-on kennel. Pets will be denied boarding without reser-vations if no kennels are available.
Boarding and disembarkingDogs must be leashed and wear a muzzle when boarding and disembar-king; all other animals must be inside a kennel. Passengers with animals always disembark last.
Where do animals travel?Animals must always travel in the vessel kennels which are installed in properly ventilated and prepared locations. Animals travelling in their own kennels will be situated by the on-board staff. For safety and hygiene rea-sons, animals may not travel in the inside of vehicles parked in the hold area or in passenger areas. May passengers visit their pets during the trip?Animals may not receive visits on high-speed ships which are usually for short distances. Animals may only receive visits on ferries if the kennels are situated on an accessible deck; however, they may not be taken out of the kennels as a general rule. Any visits will be made during the established timetable and in the company of a crew member.
Guide dogsPursuant to specific regulations, guide dogs accompanying the blind have unrestricted access to the ship facilities.
Owner's responsibilitiesA valid health card for the animal may be requested. The owner is respon-sible for complying with all existing laws and sanitary/hygiene measures. The owner is also responsible for ensuring their animal does not disturb any of the other passengers during boarding and disembarking.
PET RATES€10 per one-way trip and pet.The service is free of cost on the Ibiza-Formentera, Algeciras-Ceuta and Algeciras-Tangier routes.

Restaurants
The self-service restaurants on our ferries offer an extensive culinary selec-tion based on different types of menus (full, single dish, kids meal, vegetarian, gluten-free...).
Also offered are typical dishes from Baleària's destinations meaning there is a selection of rice and paella dishes in the Balearic Island area and Halal-certified dishes on the Algeciras-Tangier route.
Some ships offer an à-la-carte service and wine combination menus.
Bars and cafeterias
The bars serve freshly-made tapas, pastries and sandwiches in addition to offering a cocktail and gin tonic menu.

Shops
Most of our ships have on-board shops selling gifts, drinks, snacks, toiletries, games, books... Some ships offer newspapers, magazi-nes and Balearic Island gourmet products.

Club Baleària members receive a 10% discount at on-board restau-rants, bars and shops.

Late disembarkation service
Passengers travelling in cabins on routes arriving at the Balearic Islands before 6:30 may request this service which allows you to continue resting in your cabin after the ship has reached its destina-tion. You must request this service upon booking.
Audiovisual services
All ships broadcast audiovisual content (films and series in addition to Canal+ and DTT television on some ships). Plus, 3D films and outdoor films are offered on the outdoor decks in the summer.
Outdoor terraces
Most ferries feature relax areas with lounge chairs on the outdoor decks; bar service is available outdoors in the summer. The Martín i Soler and Alhucemas vessels also feature an outdoor swimming pool.
Games, Internet and reading
Baleària Magazine, with corporate and travel content, is distributed on all ships. Board games, outdoor play areas, recreational machines and sate-llite (pay-per-use) Internet are available, depending on the ship.

Parties and music
The Baleària on-board entertainment programme, Fun&Music, organises va-rious shows, parties and concerts with great success. The ship terraces be-come real dance floors with DJs, go-go shows and performances or concerts.
On-board entertainment and relaxation
For families, both close-up and stage magic and mentalism performances are scheduled in the summer for all audiences. Children's entertainment ac-tivities are offered for the youngest passengers. Plus, some ferries feature a beauty and massage centre.

Only the driver of the vehicle may embark inside it. Vehicles must be driven for embarkation. Vehicles embarked must be the same ones indicated on the passenger's ticket and must be of the length and height indicated at the time of booking; otherwise, Baleària cannot guarantee the vehicle will be allowed to embark. If necessary, the passenger must pay the difference in price.

Passengers' bicycles travel free of cost on ships with holds (except Al-geciras-Tangier). You must request this service upon booking.
