BOB INGRAM We are blessed with a plethora of seasoned, talented and well trav-eled musicians in South Florida and, once again, one of them will share their music, their stories and their evening with us. Bob Ingram has been playing his wonderful music in, and around South Florida since the first coffee hous-es, The Coffee House, Pegasus, The Flick, opened. He has shared bills with everyone from Joni Mitchell, Spanky and Our Gang, Vince Martin, Fred Neil, Jimmy Buffet, Steve Goodman, Gamble Rogers and many, many others, far too numerous to mention. Rampant nostalgia, radical philosophy and ran-dom hilarity. If there´s a song from the last forty years he doesn't´t know, it probably isn´t worth knowing. Hearing him is like putting on old shoes. Bob has toured with Crosby, Stills and Nash and, as usual, will have some great stories for us. A Coconut Grove native, he resided at the corner stone of a flourishing folk scene in the ’60s and ’70s singing by the Bay. He has toured and entertained audiences now for five decades with his broad folk music repertoire and humorous stories. He is truly a Florida original and greatly respected in folk and pop music circles. Bobby’s professional begin-nings as a touring member of Les Baxter’s Balladeers along with fellow member David Crosby, who introduced and endeared Bobby Ingram to mu-sicians across America. He has performed with David Crosby, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Jimmy Buffett, Fred Neil, Gail Garnet and many others. During his career, Bobby Ingram has owned, operated, partnered and performed in several South Florida coffeehouses including “Café Catacomb” in Ft. Laud-erdale; “Gaslight South” in Coconut Grove; and “The Flick” in Coral Gables. He is also famous for making “Monty’s Raw Bar” a rare musical retreat on Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove. To hear Bobby Ingram sing is an opportuni-ty to re-visit Coconut Grove as an undiscovered artist and sailing colony while the Bay Breeze blows his songs gently into your heart.

Old Time Contra Dance at The Historic Barnacle State Park in Co-conut Grove Sunday evening, 6:30 to 10 PM. The Park’s wood floor pavilion down by Biscayne Bay is South Florida's favorite open-air contra dance venue. Contra dances are fun, informal, family friendly, and welcoming to newcomers. We change partners after each dance so come alone if you like, you won’t be for long. Intro to Contra Dancing from 6:30 TO 7. Anita Mason will be calling and the Cornbread Dance Band will be providing lively tunes. Dress light, casual, wear comfortable shoes or sneakers, bring family, friends, your water bottle and a snack to share. There is usually a nice breeze off the water to keep the bugs away but add bug spray until the weather turns. The Park features an Historic House and Boat Building plus open grass areas for blankets and several picnic tables. Parking is right across the street. Park dance night admission is only $10. 3495 Main Highway Coconut Grove, FL 33133 305-442-6866

PRES SEZ by Barry J. White

PETE SEEGER TRIBUTE Kudus to Jennings & Keller, Rod MacDonald, Bob Singer and Allan Aunapu for putting on a fine program of tribute to Pete Seeger. With the background of our current national dilemma palpably present, you conjured up Pete's memory, message and spirit so that all present were touched and moved; a very rare and special achievement beyond enter-tainment. Bob Singer tells us “It was a magical night indeed, there were a number of people who came up to me afterwards and said they had goosebumps from the evening...can't ask for much more than that!” Michael Malone wrote “ Really a magical evening that speaks to the power of music to inspire, connect and motivate. What a treat to have our Unitarian Universalist Congregation Sanctuary filled with such good spirit.” Thanks to the performers for using your gifts and talents in this meaningful and memorable tribute to Pete Seeger.
