THE BEGINNING…

Fertilisation = the joining of the sperm and the egg in the fallopian tube to form a unique human being.

For the first 8 weeks it is known as an Embryo. After 8 weeks it is known as a Foetus.

FROM 24 WEEKS

• Week 27: Eyes start opening and retinas start growing.

WEIGHT AND INCHES

Look at these measurements with a ruler.

• 4 months: The baby’s length is 4.5 inches.

• 5 months: The baby’s length is 10 inches.

• 6 months: The baby’s length is 12 inches and weighs more than a 1 pound.
