The basicsThe DSE Focus Night, also known as Fokusaften, is an annual event which comprises of several evenings. Each evening has its own theme with two to four visiting companies. Here the students have the opportunity to meet some of the biggest and most exciting engineering companies in Den-mark.

A DSE Focus Night consists of two sessions. The companies will give the same presentation in both sessions, which means that you can attend two different company presentations in one eve-ning. After the presentations, there will be a buf-fet, free of charge, for all students who have signed up in advance for the Focus Night. The buffet is a perfect way for you to network with the visiting companies in an informal setting.

Relevant for everyoneNo matter what stage you are at in your education, a Focus Night is well worth your time. Whether you are a newly started engineering student or a graduate, Focus Night is a good occasion to learn more of the daily work within some of the largest engineering companies located in Denmark and abroad.

You get the opportunity to network your way into a great position or to commence a project in col-laboration with your favorite company.

When and where?This year’s Focus On Tour will go to Netcompany on Tuesday,

October 7.

The bus leaves at 17:15 in front of building 101, entrance B on DTU Lyngby Campus and is expected to return at 20:30.

Special event

Focus On TourWhat is Focus On TourFocus On Tour is your opportunity to go and see a company’s worksite and to meet them in their own work environment. This gives you the oppor-tunity to obtain a more geniune understanding of the company’s internal work routines than a regu-lar Focus Night will do.

This year’s Focus Night will go to Netcompany who will organize a night that will be fruitful for the participating students as well as the company itself.

When and whereFocus On Tour will take place on Tuesday, Octo-ber 7, the week after the regular Focus Nights.

This is a unique opportunity to experience your future workplace or to get a hint of what it is really like to work as an engineer. Do not wait to sign up as there is only a limited number of spots.

TransportationA bus will take you from DTU Lyngby Campus to Netcompany’s location in Lyngby where the company will welcome you. From there on Net-company will show you how it is to be an engineer in the company. At the end of the event a bus will take you back to DTU Lyngby Campus.

The people behind Focus Night

DSE Focus Night is arranged by De Studerendes Erhverskontakt (DSE), which is an independant organization run entirely by voluntary students. DSE has around 100 members divided between three divisions with offices located in Ballerup, Lyngby and Aalborg. Most of the members are engineering students.

As an organization DSE offers a lot of benefits and challenges to our members. Not only do we ar-range Focus Night, we also organize and conduct the biggest job and career fair in Denmark, the DSE Fair in Lyngby, and we produce one of the best job finding tools in the country, Pejling. This means that our members get hands-on experience when it comes to planning and managing major events.

This year DSE celebrates its 25th anniversary and the relevancy of our events is as great as ever be-fore. Our organization has grown from being a small group of students doing small events, to a professional oraganization with three divisions and more than 100 members.

At DSE we do almost everything ourselves. It does not matter if it is graphical design, sales, account-ing or PR, the members are the ones carrying out the job. The people in DSE all contribute to the organization in their own way.

Besides being beneficial for the future career of its members, DSE also helps to expand the social network at DTU. DSE creates the framework for a large range of social events, both events for all DTU students and events within the organization.

If you think all of this sounds interesting you should consider becomming a member of DSE. If you have the will, we have the means.
