the epidemic of autism and other neurological

and immunological disorders, which affect a

disproportionate number of young Americans.

The correlation between the skyrocketing

vaccine schedule and the increase in chronic

illness is stark and cannot be explained away.

While reviewing powerful evidence of this

link, Focus Autism has encountered evidenceof other environmental factors, from fluoride

to food to pharmaceuticals that have

diminished, rather than enhanced the health of

all Americans. We live sicker and die younger

than people in other countries, and the gap is

growing.

We have launched the A Shot of Truth

campaign in collaboration with theMoms

against Mercuryorganization, an affiliate of

ours. Our goal is to raise national attention to

the dangerous side effects of vaccines and

evidence of injury it causes children and

adults. With 1 in 50 children being affected

by autism and chronic illness rates on the rise

most families are affected. By sharing the

facts, we hope to unite millions who will callfor public policy change and accountability for the thousands unnecessarily harmed daily by

AUTISM

Do You Know?

In 1986, the U.S. Supreme Court granted vaccine manufacturers immunity from lawsuits

pertaining to vaccine injury. The right to sue a pharmaceutical company for death or

disability as a result of vaccination, even if you could prove vaccination was the cause,

was taken away.

No longer concerned withfinancial liability, manufacturers revved up their R&D teams and

the race to create new vaccines (and increase profits) was on.

Between 1990 and 2006, these companies developed

vaccines for Hib, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Rotavirus,

Pneumococcal, Flu, Hepatitis A, and Meningococcal

disease, adding a whopping 27 shots to the

recommended schedule.

Today, a child receives up to 38 doses of

vaccine by age 6. The rate of autism is now

1 in 50 children.

Chronic health conditions doubled from 1994 to

2006.

Can changes in the immune system and the growth

of chronic illness in our children be the result of an

aggressive vaccine schedule that has never beensafety tested?

Just 10 years ago, the vaccine market

was making a profit of $5.7 billion.

Now that market has soared beyond

$27 billion. Every year that the vaccine

industrys profits grow unchecked,

thousands of children continue to

be damaged.

In 1983, a child received 10 doses of vaccines by age 6.

The rate of autism at that time was 1 in 10,000 children.

If We Are THE BEST,

Americans live sicker and die younger than people in wealthy countries and the gap is

widening, a new report shows. [USA Today. January 2013.]

The following numbers are scary:

Poor health outcomes are especially depressing because the U.S.A. spends twice as much on

healthcare than other countries about $9,000 per person.

Healthcare cost, as a percent of the GDP is almost double that of other countries, saysGerard Anderson of the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

Data from 2007 show Americans life expectancy is 3.7 years shorter for men and 5.2 years

shorter for women than in the leading nations Switzerland for men and Japan for women.

As of 2011, 27 countries had higher life expectancies at birth than the United States.

We rank at or near the bottom in nine key areas of health: low birth weight; injuries and

homicides; teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections; HIV and AIDS; drug-related

deaths; obesity and diabetes; heart disease; chronic lung disease; and general disability.

The United States has the highest number of

mandated vaccines for children under 5 in the world

(36-45, double the Western world average of 18)

and out of the 34 developed countries, places last

for its children under 5 mortality rate.

Other countries, including the UK, Denmark,

Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Finland,Iceland, Ireland, Japan and several Canadian

provinces screen pregnant women for Hepatitis B

and only vaccinate children who are at risk. The

United States vaccinates all children with Hepatitis B

within 12 hours of birth, whether there is potential for

risk or not.

In addition to mandating the most aggressive vaccine schedule in the world, 70% of our

population uses prescription drugs. We comprise just 5% of the worlds population and take

80% of the antidepressants. A higher use of anti-depressant and stimulant drug use can cause

an increase in homicide and drug-related deaths.

Big Pharma is profiting twice, first by creating the harmful substances that we are using/

injecting/ingesting that contribute to the rise of these issues and then again through themedicine used to treat the very conditions they help create.

Its no secret that pharmaceutical companies have threatened the government. Without

immunity from lawsuits, pharmaceutical companies wont produce drugs, even in the event

of germ warfare. Unbelievably, the drug

industry has convinced the government to seal

all lawsuit records against it, forcing consumers

to do their own research. Most outrageously, it

is the only industry without whistleblower

protection.

Baby boomers unhealthier than

parents

BABY BOOMERS are a health bust according to ashocking new West Virginia University study.

The 78 million Americans born between 1946 and 1964

are behind their parents in several key wellness factors.

The boomers have a higher rate of chronic illness, more

disability, and lower-rated health than their folks did at

a comparable age.

Only 13 percent of baby boomers consider their health to

be excellent compared to 32 percent of their parents, and39 percent are overweight, compared to 29 percent of theirelders.

The results are stunning since the boomers have embracedrunning, fitness classes and backpacking in unprecedented

numbers.

There seems to be a disconnect between the reputation ofbaby boomers for being healthy and what we see inincreasing rates of diabetes, high blood pressure, andobesity, says lead author Dr. Dana King of WVUsSchool of Medicine. Its really discouraging theyre not

the healthiest generation.

Why Are We Losing?

It is not reasonable to assume that manipulation of the immune system through an increasing number ofvaccinations, during critical periods of brain development, will not result in adverse neurodevelopmental outcome.

England with 98% of the population vaccinated against smallpox, experienced its

worst ever smallpox outbreak with 45,000 deaths. Germany, at a 96% vaccination

rate compliance, had over 125,000 deaths from smallpox.

In Germany, compulsory mass vaccination against diphtheria commenced in 1940

and by 1945, diphtheria was up from 40,000 to 250,000.

W.H.O declared Ghana measles free in 1967. Then, in 1972, Ghana experienced

one of its worst measles outbreaks, with its highest ever mortality rate. 96% of the

population had previously been vaccinated.

A tuberculosis vaccine trial in India involving 20,000 people revealed that more

cases of TB occurred in the vaccinated than the unvaccinated.

Dr. Jonas Salk who developed the first polio vaccine testified along with other

scientists, that mass inoculation against polio was the cause of most polio cases

throughout the U.S.A., since 1961.

California had the largest whooping cough outbreak (almost 1500 people ~ 5x

times the normal level) in more than 50 years. A study showed that 81% of

whooping cough cases occurred, in people under the age of 19, who received the

entire recommend series (5 shots) of whooping cough vaccines.

This seasons flu vaccine was almost completely ineffective in people over 65.

Rates of hospitalization and death have been some of the highest ever recorded for

that age group, according to early estimates by the Centers for Disease Control and

Prevention. For those over 65, the flu vaccine helped in just 9% of cases.

The U.S.s dismal ranking in infant mortality is evidence that the health of our children is at risk. We give

more vaccines than any other country. Of 34 developed countries administering an average of 17 doses,

the U.S. mandates a staggering 36 doses of vaccines (up from 10 in 1983). Many of the 15 infectious

diseases covered, are neither life-threatening, nor a present threat.

Vaccinated Children Are Sicker Than Unvaccinated Children

Despite rising rates of chronic illness, the CDC refuses to run studies on the vaccinated vs.

unvaccinated. Vaccinated population disease rate is higher than unvaccinated populations.

How Industry Conceals

Evidence of Harm

A RECENT STUDY in theJournal of the American Medical

Associationconsisting of over 600 studied peer-reviewed

scientific papers published in the worlds top medical journals

found that scientists misrepresented the actual findings of the

research. Forty percent of the data was misrepresented in either

the abstract or main text of the study. In cases where studies

had negative outcomesin other words, the treatment

studied did not workthe scientists authoring the studies

distorted thefi

ndings to show the treatments did work. Insome cases, they didnt even publish the findings at all.

This is the same scientific information the public counts on to

make their medical decisions. Unfortunately, although the public can be made to believe that

research is done in an ethical manner, leaders from academic medical centers are provided

grants to conduct research contracted by Pharma. The research is often designed and

executed, such that the results are made to favor the agenda of the manufacturer and funder.

The public trusts government regulators to ensure that vaccines and other pharmaceuticals

meet the safety criteria, so harmful products are not approved. However, the same agencies

trusted by the public to approve pharmaceuticals, simultaneously receive grants from the

companies that manufacturer them. In another example of conflict of interest, authors of

scientific papers sit on corporate advisory boards, receive large speaking fees, and enter into

patent and royalty agreements with Pharma.

Despite their legal requirement to submit these findings to the FDA and post the data on their

website, pharmaceutical companies conceal their unfavorable research. As a result, many

pharmaceutical companies are profiting from harmful drugs and only after legal action is

taken are they forced to publish the data on a public website, where independent scientists areable to analyze the data and report all findings. Despite the

corruption, the drugs remain on the market, even while

causing thousands of deaths, such as in the case of

GlaxoSmithKlines diabetes drug Avandia. In

addition, fines assessed to pharmaceutical

companies are insignificant in comparison to

gross sales, rendering the legal repercussions

meaningless, in light of the fact that Pharma

budgets for these fines. The ultimate price being

paid is our deteriorating public health, a side

effect of Big Pharmas agenda.

Leading pharmaceutical companies continue to receive sizable government

penalties for illegal practices, previously plead guilty to by their competition.

Paying fines for breaking the law has become part of the cost of doing

business in the drug industry.

Forest Laboratories: $313 million

As pharmaceutical companies continue to profit, chronic illness in the U.S.

continues to grow.

We project a rise in the number of reported cases of the seven diseases to almost 231

million annually by 2023. As shown in figure 7, this represents an increase of 62 percent

in the absolute number of cancer cases, a 54 percent increase in mental disorders and a

53% increase in diabetes.

Debate Over Safe Limits and RecommendationsHistorically, the CDC has not acted on the EPAs recommendations on the safe limits of

exposure for various components.

Throughout the 1990s, the CDC recommended vaccines that gave children 125

times more ethyl mercury than the EPAs safe limit . The EPAs safe level is 0.1

microgram per kilogram body weight. Children in the 1990s and early 2000s were

exposed to 62.5 micrograms of mercury at 2 months of age. That equals approximately

12.5mcg/kg of body weight for the average 2 month old child.

Delayed Removal of Dangerous Ingredients and Preservatives

There is available information that shows some ingredients may cause potential adverse

events, however there has been a substantial delay in removing these ingredients from

vaccines.

Despite GlaxoSmithKline offering to produce thimerosal-free vaccines, the CDC did

not succeed in doing so until 2004.

The World Health Organization allowed pharmaceutical companies to stop callingthimerosal a preservative years ago, but it is now known as a sterilizing agent, which

is used at the beginning of the vaccine manufacturing process instead of the end. It is

chelated out, at the end of the process, but chelation does not remove all of it, allowing

what manufacturers recognize as trace amounts to remain. No one is checking these

amounts, which means no one knows just how much mercury is actually in a vaccine.

Ties with the Pharmaceutical Industry

Pharmaceutical ties with the CDC are common and many of these connections have cycled

between the two.

In 2003, an investigation by United Press International found that the CDC had close

ties between the agencys advisory panel for vaccines and Big Pharma.

CDC ...The Center for Disease Control (CDC) oversees vaccine research, promotion and safety. The

Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends vaccines to the CDC,

which makes recommendations to the public. Its unfortunate for our children that the CDC

has been strongly influenced by pharmaceutical companies and the CDC is repeatedly failing

us. Polio was called an epidemic at 1 in 3000, but the CDC has yet to call autism an epidemic

at 1 in 50. However, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) called autism an epidemic

in 2012.

The Heart of the Problem(cont)

Some of the members of the advisory panel received money from vaccine makers

through sharing of patents, owning stock, and payments for research.

Julie Gerberding, who headed the CDC from 2002 to 2009, became the president of

Mercks vaccine division.

Promotion of an Aggressive Vaccine Schedule, Despite Risk of Possible Vaccine Injury

Damage

The CDC continues to promote vaccines in the U.S., where in other countries vaccines have alimited use based on disease risk factors, due to vaccine safety concerns.

For example: the U.S. recommends Hepatitis B to all newborn babies within 24 hours

of birth, regardless of whether the baby is at risk or not.

To the contrary, in the following countries Hep B vaccination is only required for at risk

children born to mothers who test positive: Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy,

Sweden, Japan, Netherlands and Norway.

Failure to Prove Vaccines are Safe

The CDC promotes the ACIPs recommended vaccine schedule, a series of vaccines that

only the individual vaccines have been safety tested for the short term. These tests do not

include combination vaccines, nor do they include the effects of the entire vaccine schedule,

as a whole.

At the November 2012 Congressional Oversight Hearings on Autism, Carolyn Maloney

asked why have a schedule that requires a child to receive so many vaccines, in such a

short period of time, when there is plenty of antidotal evidence from parents who hadcompletely normal children regress almost immediately following vaccination.

Colleen Boyle, of the CDC followed with the statement: There is a federal advisory

committee that determines the vaccine schedule. The reason they cluster the vaccines is

really to try to make sure everyone gets it. And again trying to make sure vaccines go

to all children and not everyone goes to the doctor routinely, so we use that opportunity

to make sure they get them.

In Congressman Bill Poseys exploration of the subject, directed at Boyle, he asked, So

clearly, definitely, unequivocally, you have studied vaccinated versus unvaccinated?

To which she replied, We have not studied vaccinated versus unvaccinated.

His response was: Never mind. Stop there.

Increasing Health Risks In The U.S.

Immunizations

u Single MMR vaccines are manufactured by France, India, China, Russia and some European countries

due to the alarming number of reported side effects caused by the combined MMR vaccine.

u A study in Poland examining adverse events and the immune system response following vaccination

stated, A neonates immune system does not function in the same manner as an adults and it does not

reach maturity until about age 3 years. Because of a neonates existing antibodies from the mother,

vaccination against some microorganisms simply does not provide any lasting protection for newborns.

u The ACIP and CDC continue to recommend the flu vaccine for pregnant woman and infants, despite

the fact that they are not sure if it is safe to do so, as no clinical trials were done on either population.

Subtle Damage

u Consistently being reported, are accounts of post-vaccination reaction that are followed later in life by

poor academic performance including dyslexia, lower IQ, struggle with schoolwork and learning

disabilities.

Food

u In the U.K., Australia, Singapore and other countries, governments ban ingredients proven to cause

harm and impose legal repercussions if used in food products. The U.S. uses many of these same

ingredients as standard practice in everyday foods.

Peanut Oil

u Today, almost 1.5 million children in this country are allergic to peanuts, emerging as the number one

case of death from reactions. Todays peanut allergy epidemic was precipitated by first adding peanut oil

to penicillin and then later to childhood injections. As vaccines doubled in the 1980s and 1990s, hundreds

of thousands of kids exhibited peanut sensitivities, with frequent cases of anaphylaxis, sometimes fatal.

Fluoride

u The fluoride we drink is not a naturally occurring substance, rather a mining plant bi-product labeled

as a highly toxic poison by the EPA. So toxic, that hazmat protective gear must be worn when moving it.

Bipolar Disorder

u The U.S. has a prevalence rate of 4.4% for bipolar disorder. This is double that of the world prevalence

rate which is 2.4%.

u Nine of ten children diagnosed as bipolar are treated with at least one medication and two-thirds of

them are being treated with two or more drugs.

u Bipolar individuals are two times more likely t o die of heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

Increasing Health Risks In The U.S.

Diabetes

u Today, although the population has doubled since the 1940s, the incidence of type 1 diabetes has risen

more than 20 times. Data indicates t hat vaccines (mumps, hepatitis B, MMR and pneumococcal) cause

approximately 80% of cases of insulin dependent diabetes in children who have received multiple vaccines

starting after 2 months of life.

u A Bristol University study of 2.6 million people between 1985 and 2004 found that the number of

children under five years old with type 1 diabetes has grown 2.3% every year. Meanwhile, the number of

diagnosed kids under fifteen, which includes the most ages most commonly diagnosed, doubled during

that time.

Epilepsy

u An estimated 1 in 100 people in the U.S. has had a single unprovoked seizure or has been diagnosed

with epilepsy.

u In 70% of new cases, no cause is apparent.

u The CDC admits that 10% of children who have a febrile seizure will develop epilepsy. In addition,

scientists have discovered a link between epilepsy and autism, which supports the rise in epilepsy

prevalence.

Autism

u In the last 12 years, the prevalence of autism has increased 289.5% and the growth rate of autism

annually is between 10 and 17%.

u There was a 75% increase in the number of reported autistic students in public schools between

2004-2009 (US Department of Educations Child Count Data).

Chronic Illness

u Celiac disease growth rates have risen some 400% in the last 50 years.

u 1in 12 people (about 8% or 25 million people in the U.S.) has asthma according to data from 2009.

u In the last 12 years, the prevalence of ADHD has increased 33%.

Antidepressant Drugs

u 1 in 10 Americans aged 12 years and over take antidepressants.

u Antidepressants were the third most common prescription drug taken by Americans of all ages in

2005-2008 and the most frequently used by persons aged 18-44 years. From 1988-1994 through

2004-2008, the rate of antidepressant use in the U.S. among all ages increased nearly 400%.

Do your homework:Educate yourself about the risks of vaccinations so you can makethe best choice for you and your loved ones.

Ask questions. If you vaccinate, these are the eight questions you should askrecommended by the National Vaccine Information Center:

Avoid unnecessary vaccines and weigh carefully the need for other vaccines.Unnecessary vaccines would include those that are for minor illnesses or that protect against

a disease for which a child has zero risk. A few examples:

Hepatitis B at Birth:Ask for results of moms Hep B blood test before giving

Hep B to a newborn without risk.

Flu Vaccine:If you feel you must have the flu shot, despite the evidence, insist

on the mercury-free option (still containing traces of mercury)

Rotavirus Vaccine: Prevents a few days of diarrhea for which the risk is

dehydration- a treatable, preventable symptom.

Never vaccinate when your child is sick, including ear infections:If you choose tovaccinate, refrain from giving multiple catch-up vaccines at once, often encouraged by

physicians, as a way to save time and money. To minimize risk, spread out vaccine

individual vaccines.

Keep in mind, there is no assurance that even one vaccine will not harm an individual.

When purchasing food, cosmetics, cleaning products and other products for your

home and family, read your labels:avoid harmful ingredients, toxins and other chemicalsubstances.

Remember: YOU are in charge and ultimately your health decisions you make areyour choice!
