ARTWORK I LOOKED AT
By Carl Humphryhttp://fineartamerica.com/featured/airplane-in-the-sky-cari-humphry.html
Red and green clouds were made by changing the color balance.Image→Adjustments→color balance
This was my *irst time working on a big picture like this, and what I used was acrylic paint and a canvas. The *irst idea I had in mind was a pilot, who is controlling the airplane for an air show. The view is from an inside of the cockpit.
The part that I like about this painting is the clouds. I think I did well producing the *luf*iness of the cloud and its gradation from red/green to white. The part I don’t like is the airplanes. At *irst, I drew the airplanes free hand, but as I started to paint, I realized that the proportions are not correct and I used the projector to get the shapes right. The reason why I don’t like the airplane part is because of shades. If I have colored the shades in right, the airplane might have looked better. If I had time to *ix this painting, I’d work on the airplane right away.I think the background sky went well too, as the gradation came out well.
For my next artwork, I’ll make a graphing artwork, by using photoshop and illustrator. This painting I’ve *inished had more serious, “work” kind of feeling and this time, I’ll try and express how kids are feeling about the airshow. By these two artworks, I want to show the differences of emotions from one topic called “air show”
