Sinds 2008 worden de modules van het profiel
Global IT Sourcing van de Master of
Informatics ook gezamenlijk aangeboden in de
vorm van een masterclass.
Voor wie?
De masterclass is ideaal voor wie zich wil
verdiepen in de IT Sourcing, maar (nog) geen
volledige masteropleiding wil volgen.
Onderwijsprogramma
De masterclass bestaat uit een drietal modules:
• Business Case and Vendor Selection
• HR Transition and Change management
• Organizing Demand / Supply
Business Case and Vendor Selection
In deze module volgen we het eerste gedeelte
van de levenscyclus van een sourcingsrelatie.
Dit begint bij de business case, ofwel bij de
weging tussen de te verwachten voordelen
aan de ene kant en de transactiekosten en
risico’s van outsourcing aan de andere kant.
Daarna volgt het proces van vendor selection
met de fases Request for Information, Request
for Proposal, Proposal en verlenen van de
opdracht. Dit proces is in de publieke sector
bijzonder ingewikkeld, vanwege de Europese
regelgeving voor de publieke sector. Daarom
wordt er speciaal een college besteed aan
deze regelgeving. Een ander college wordt
besteed aan de uitdagingen van offshore
business, die worden gedomineerd door de
culturele verschillen tussen de onshore en
offshore landen. Dit deel van de levenscyclus
eindigt met de wettelijke kwesties van de
aanbesteding van de overeenkomst. De
laatste twee colleges zijn specials. Bij het ene
college wordt een echte sourcingscase (die
nog steeds loopt) opnieuw bekeken door de
oorspronkelijke insourcer en outsourcer van
deze case. En in het laatste college zal een
sourcing-researcher van de Universiteit van
Amsterdam de methoden en de eerste
resultaten delen met de studenten over een
Symbiosis research-project.
HR Transition and Change management
Deze module gaat over de overdracht van
middelen (Hardware, Software, licenses) en
personeel van de outsourcer naar de IT service
leverancier dat wordt gevolgd door de integratie
van IT- assets in de architectuur van de service
leverancier en de homogenisatie van de
werkomstandigheden van het personeel binnen
de werkomstandigheden van de
services leverancier. Daarna kan de
leverancier haar resources opnieuw verdelen
over haar klanten, met als doel om daar
schaalverbeteringen mee te krijgen. Daarom
zal deze module een sterke focus hebben op
HRM en wettelijke kwesties.
Organizing Demand/Supply
Een van de meest cruciale succesfactoren bij
outsourcing is IT-governance mogelijkheid
van de outsourcer. Want na outsourcing zal
hij zijn IT-provision moeten managen als een
chain process, met delen van die chain
binnen zijn organisatie en delen daarbuiten.
Deze module zal zich focussen op
Performane Management, Cost Management
and Contract management, en mede op
contract beëindiging.
De modules in deze masterclass worden
verzorgd door dr. Guus Delen, samen met
gastdocenten uit het werkveld. Guus Delen is
lector aan het lectoraat IT-Sourcing van de
Hogeschool van Amsterdam. Bij de Master of
Informatics werkt hij aan de ontwikkeling van
het profiel Global IT Sourcing.
Na de masterclass
Nadat u de masterclass succesvol heeft
afgerond ontvangt u een certificaat.
Dit certificaat levert u, naast het bewijs van
afronding van de masterclass, bovendien
vrijstellingen op voor de opleiding Master of
Informatics, indien u besluit tóch de gehele
masteropleiding te gaan volgen.
Wanneer u er voor kiest om na de
masterclass toch de gehele Masteropleiding
te gaan volgen worden uiteraard de kosten
van de masterclass Global IT Sourcing in
mindering gebracht op het totaalbedrag voor
de Master of Informatics.

In short
Since 2008 the modules of specialization profile
Global IT Sourcing of the Master of Informatics
are also jointly presented in the form of a
master class.
For whom?
The master class is ideal for those who wish to
find out more about the current insight around
IT Sourcing, but who do not want to follow the
entire master programme jet.
Programme
De master class consists out of the following
three modules:
• Business Case and Vendor Selection
• HR Transition and Change management
• Organizing Demand / Supply
Business Case and Vendor Selection
This module follows the first part of the
lifecycle of a sourcing relationship. It starts
with the business case, i.e. the weighing
between the expected benefits on the one
hand and the transaction costs and risks of
outsourcing on the other hand. After that
follows the process of vendor selection, with
the stages of Request for Information, Request
for Proposal, Proposal, and granting of the
deal. This process is particularly cumbersome
in the public sector, because of the European
regulations for public tendering, therefore a
special lecture is devoted to these regulations.
Another lecture is devoted to the challenges of
offshore business, which are dominated by
cultural differences between onshore and
offshore countries. This part of the lifecycle
ends with the legal issues of contracting the
deal. The last two lectures are specials. In one
a real life sourcing case (which is still running)
will be re-enacted by the original insourcer and
outsourcer of that case. In the final lecture a
sourcing-researcher of Amsterdam University
will share the methods and the first results of
the Symbiosis research-project with the
students.
HR Transition and Change management
This module deals with the transfer of
resources (Hardware, Software, licenses)and
personnel from the outsourcer to the IT service
provider, with is followed by the integration of
the IT-assets in the architecture of service
provider and the homogenisation of the working
conditions of the personnel within the working
conditions of the service provider. Thereafter
the provider can redistribute all those new
resources over its customers, in order to
create economies of scale. Therefore this
module will have a heavy focus on HRM and
legal issues.
Organizing Demand/Supply
One of the most crucial success factors for outsourcing is IT-governance ability of the outsourcer. For after outsourcing he will have to manage his IT-provision as a chain process, with parts of the chain within and other parts outside his own organisation. This module will focus on Performance management, Cost management and Contract management, including contract ending.
The modules in this master class are taught
by dr. Guus Delen, along with guest lecturers
from the field. Guus Delen is lector IT-
Sourcing at Hogeschool van Amsterdam. For
the Master of Informatics he is working on
developing the profile Global IT Sourcing.
After the master class
After you have successfully completed the
master class you will receive a certificate.
This certificate gives you, besides proof of
completion of the master class, exemptions
for the Master of Informatics, if you decide to
follow the entire master programme.
If you decide tot follow the entire master
programme the expenses made for following
the master class Global IT Sourcing will be
deducted from the total tuition fee of the
Master of Informatics.
