Block Assembly Finished block size 7 1/2”

Creating the Wide Flying Geese 1. Place (1) F White 3” x 4 1/4” rectangle on top of (1) G Lilac

3” x 5 1 /2” rectangle as shown, RST.

2. Sew from corner to corner as shown.

3. Press back, and trim excess.

Cutting Yardage is based on fabric 40˝ wide.

A Pink (48) 3” x 5 1/2” rectangles

B Navy (6) 3 1/2” x WOF strips for Border 2

C Navy (24) 3” x 5 1/2” rectangles

D Lime (24) 3” x 5 1/2” rectangles

E Navy (144) 3” x 4 1/4” rectangles

(6) 1 1/2” x WOF strips for Border 1

(7) 2-1/4” x WOF” strips, sewn end to end,

folded in half, and pressed for binding

4. Repeat Steps 1-3, placing (1) F White 3” x 4 1/4” rectangle on top of the

unit on the other corner.

5. Sew diagonally from corner to corner as shown. Press and trim.

Square to 3” x 8”.

6. Repeat Steps 1 to 5 to make (24) FG units, and the additional units as shown.

Sewing the Blocks

1. Layout (1) FG Unit, (1) FC Unit, and (1) FA Unit

as shown.

2. Sew units together to create Block A. Square

to 8”.

3. Repeat to make (24) Block As.

4. Layout (1) EG Unit, (1) ED Unit, and (1) EA Unit

as shown.

5. Sew units together to create Block B. Square

to 8”.

6. Repeat to make (24) Block Bs.

Assembling the Quilt Center 1. Using the Quilt Assembly diagram, arrange Block As and Block Bs into rows.

2. Sew each row together. Press seams within each row in the same direction, alternating the direction with each row so that

Row 1 is pressed to the left, Row 2 is pressed to the right, and so on.

3. Sew the rows together, matching block seams. Press all the row seams down. Quilt Center should measure 45-1/2” x

60-1/2”.

Quilt Assembly

1. Sew (3) E 1 1/2” x WOF Border 1 strips together. Trim to (2) 1 1/2” x 60 1/2” and sew to the sides of Quilt Center.

2. Sew remaining (3) E 1 1/2” x WOF Border 1 strips together and trim to (2) 1 1/2” x 47 1/2”. Sew to top and bottom of Quilt

Center. Quilt should measure 47-1/2” x 62-1/2”.

3. Sew (3) B 3 1/2” x WOF Border 2 strips together. Trim to (2) 3 1/2” x 62 1/2” and sew to the sides of Quilt Center.

4. Sew remaining (3) B 3 1/2” x WOF Border 2 strips together and trim to (2) 3 1/2” x 53 1/2”. Sew to the top and bottom of

Quilt Center. Quilt should measure 53-1/2” x 68-1/2”.

5. Layer backing, batting, and the quilt top.

6. Baste, then quilt as desired. Bind.
