Fluorosis; in West Bengal
In West Bengal Malda, Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia and South 24 Paraganas are affected.
Of them Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum & Daxin Dinajpur are worst affected.

1Assess prevalence of Fluorosis in endemic areas of the district
Surveillance of Fluorosis cases will start after TOT training in Hyderabad(28th -29th july,2011)
2 Lab equipment Procurement of Lab Equipment Already done & installed: Ion-Meter. Procurement of other Lab Equipment under process.
3 lab diagnosis facilities
Will start by Aug 31st (after procurement of equipment and reagents)
4Training of medical & para-medical staffs district level
Will start soon after TOT (28th – 29th July,2011)
5One coordinating meeting at district level
Meeting already done October , 2010 / next during August 2011

Medical management of Fluorosis cases including treatment, surgery, rehabilitation
It will run side by side along with the surveillance of Fluorosis cases following a plan manner.
7 Health education & publicity
Soon after the training of Medical Officer (1st week of September )

Ultimate Goal To provide safe house hold water to
every citizen of Fluoride affected areas of Bankura, a constant pursuance is planned to be under taken through “Intersectoral co-ordination” with the NGOs, General Administration, PRIs, PHED and related agencies.
And get rid of Fluorosis……by 2015!
