Flowering Plant Terminology
The images that follow are from Flora of the Chicago Region, 4th edition (1994, by Floyd Swink and Gerould Wilhelm), copyright by the Indiana Academy of Sciences. For that reason, all users of these images should give appropriate credit to the Indiana Academy, Floyd Swink (deceased) and Jerry Wilhelm.
These images were accessed through vPlants, at www.vplants.org. vPlants is a cooperative, continuing project involving The Morton Arboretum, the Field Museum of Natural History and the Chicago Botanic Garden. The project is funded through the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
The intention of the vPlants project is to provide an expanding, comprehensive database which eventually may involve plants over a wider region.
