New construction or retrofit

The Flotronic System Manager can control up to eight air-cooled or water-cooled 30 Series chillers so that, on most projects, only one FSM module is required.Since most Carrier 30 Series chillers can be upgraded with the Flotronic II Retrokit, existing plants can also be auto-mated with the FSM.

With the FSM, you can customize chiller operating sequences to your specific application, maximizing the use of part load operation, if desired. Minimize installation costs

Since the FSM has been designed and tested for a multi-tude of applications, installation and commissioning time are reduced to the minimum.A simple, three-wire shielded cable is all that is required to connect the FSM to your chillers, and to the Carrier Com-fort Network.

The Flotronic System Manager contains a pre-programmed software package with standard algorithms for each application:

air-cooled and water-cooled Flotronic II chillers

n

new construction or retrofit projects

n

multiple piping schemes and plant layouts

No custom programming is required.

The FSM automatically maintains smooth, even and effi-cient operation between machines through control routines such as:

chiller sequencing/staging

n

startup and shutdown

n

control point reset

The FSM can also control peripheral chiller plant equip-ment, such as pumps and bypass valves. And, as a compo-nent of the Carrier Comfort Network, the FSM can commu-nicate with your building’s entire HVAC system.

Integrated system operation

As part of the Carrier Comfort Network, the FSM can facilitate integrated HVAC system control by communica-ting with other CCN components.

A System Access Module (SAM) with multi-line display provides quick access to configuration, alarm, operation and maintenance data.

An Alarm Printer Interface Module receives alarms and transmits them to a printer for recording.

Field Installed Devices (FIDs) allow control of cooling towers, pumps and other chiller plant equipment.

The Building Supervisor allows you to monitor and control the FSM - and the entire Carrier Comfort Network - from one or more PCs.

The Water System Manager (WSM) controls chilled water production to match the load in the building.

The FSM can also be interfaced with other systems by hard-wired signals connected to its inputs or by a Dataport module.
