Research history of Altai

Planned expeditions to collect material for the new edition of the new “Flora of Altai” project began 25 years ago.

The initiators:

• More than 2700 plant species,

300 of which endemic.

• The spectrum of leading families : Asteráceae, Poaceae, Fabaceae, Cyperaceae, Rosaceae, Brassicaceae.

The AMC area was zoned into 19 polygons according to botanical and geographical zoning by R.V. Kamelin (Flora Altaica, 2005).
