What subject areas can I study in the School of Humanities? The School of Humanities is divided up into subject areas, all of which are listed on the cover of this book. Most students study topics from more than one department. The following link will take to you the page on the Flinders University website that will let you search for individual topics within a subject areas. http://stusyswww.flinders.edu.au/topic.taf

Where will my classes be held? Most classes will be held in the Humanities Building which is near the Central Library. Teaching rooms are at courtyard level with most academic staff and administrative offices on the top floor. Other teaching spaces are in the Drama Centre, Social Sciences South, Law and Commerce, Physical Sciences and the Sturt Campus.

Where do I submit my assignments, essays etc? Assignments are collected at 4pm Monday-Friday from two assignment collection boxes in the School: • Level 2 - Humanities Building (top of stairs North-West corner of the building). Cover Sheets

are available from this location.

• The Humanities Courtyard, which is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Coversheets are available online at: http://ehlt.flinders.edu.au/humanities/downloads/humn_coversheet.pdf

Where do I collect my marked assignments, essays etc? Marked assignments can be collected from the School of Humanities Assignment Office, in room 267. Students must present ID cards to collect all assignments.

Who’s Who in the School of Humanities

If you have a question about one of the topics you are studying, you should speak to the topic coordinator. Each topic has a nominated coordinator who will be able to help you with issues relating to topic content, deadlines, assessment details etc. The name of your topic coordinator is available from the website, or in your topic handbook.

Each department/section has a Director of Studies. They deal with the academic procedures related to that particular department and gives advice on majors and other aspects of a course. Students should approach the Director of Studies for course enrolment information, approval of topic sequences, or issues broader than those dealt with by the specific topic coordinator. Should the Director of Studies be unable to assist you, they can advise you of the most appropriate person to speak with.

The School of Humanities also has a range of administrative staff. If you’re ever in doubt about who to contact for academic matters, or if you have a general question, drop by the administrative offices and staff will be able to assist you.

The School of Humanities webpage will also help you find information and staff contact details http://ehlt.flinders.edu.au/humanities/
