The Garden Terrace is the latest addition to the Riverdale Manorproperty.  The Garden Terrace is an enchanted heatedindoor/outdoor structure that will feature a large indoor-outdoor stone fireplace, a bronze chandelier with glisteningcrystals, Alaskan cedar flooring and clear sides that are remotecontrolled so they can be opened on a pretty evening andclosed in a moment if there is a sudden storm.  Ethereal lightingalso provides a charming accent to this room. The newwraparound deck overlooks the river so you can enjoy the viewanytime of the year. The Garden Terrace is an additional spacefor Cocktails and Hors D’oeuvres, dessert buffets, photo boothsand smaller wedding ceremonies. Your bar can be out in theGarden Terrace room all night and all four seasons of the year. Construction for the Garden Terrace was completed this March…just in time for the spring and summer weddings.  We can’t waitfor the trees to be in blossom and for our summer flowers to bein bloom.

The big day can be stressful and often  brides and grooms get lost in the excitement of their day and forget toeat! We know how demanding  getting ready for your  wedding  is and it is important to  us that  you and  yourbridal party are not “hangry”.  We have revamped our bridal suite menu for this year by adding bite sized, energypacked snacks with a lighter feel to keep you going on your busy day! First, we have added Lettuce Wraps; fresh pickled vegetables with your choice of either grilled chicken or grilledshrimp wrapped inside a leaf of fresh lettuce. This option packs all the flavors you are looking for without thatheavy sandwich feel and mess! We are also offering a refreshing classic, an Afternoon Tea that includes pots ofhot black and green teas; paired with a delightful combination of open-faced tea sandwiches. To  help keep  everyone  motivated, we have the Energy Break that includes  mini yogurt parfaits homemadechocolate chip and peanut butter energy bars,  and hummus with fresh vegetable crudités.

We’d like to think that our Dessert Menu features something for everyone!  Chocolate fan? Check. Somethingrich and creamy? Check! Just a bite? Check! Fruity and classic? Check! Gluten free? Check! Pick five for a dessert buffet, you’ve got it all covered. Did we forget to mention our Wedding Cakes?  Our customtwo-tiered cakes with a wide variety of flavors, fillings, accents and designs are a great value and provide thatmemorable photo-op.  They can be complemented with sheet cakes, kitchen cakes or any of the other fun cakeson our Dessert menu or added to the Dessert Buffet. Whether your style is elegant Viennese pastries or rustic fruit cobblers you will find your match on our DessertMenu.  Consider our custom favors that also offer great variety from Dessert Kebabs to adorable GingerbreadBride and Groom cookies. Thyme & Seasons Catering offers a focused corporate menu that can suit any budget and we are always happy tocreate a custom menu that suits your style and helps you meet your goals. Thyme & Seasons Catering also catersevents at your workplace.  Planning a Grand Opening? We would love to be your partner in creating a fun menuand presenting it in a way that shows off your new facility.  Do you just need lunch brought in for a longmeeting? 1. The atrium at Riverdale Manor features a spectacular pottedcactus. It is over 9 feet tall, and was started as a seedling by ownerJohn Raezer 40 years ago. 2. Some of you may have noticed Riverdale’s very own mascot, ourfriendly property cat named Catastrophe. She even has her owncustom-made house outside of the kitchen doors. 3. Spring-Fall right outside of our kitchen doors and in pots aroundthe property you will find fresh herbs such as basil, parsley, mintand rosemary.  This is how we are able to offer the freshest possiblefood! 4. Each year our Chefs are given the challenge to create new menuitems and present their selections at our internal menu tasting.  Theinternal menu tasting is very much so like an episode of the shows“Top Chef” or “Chopped”. Our culinary team led by Executive ChefMike Baksa presents 25 to 30 new items to our team and only 10 ofthe items will make the menu package. This year we tasted dessertstoo.  They were all winners! 5. Riverdale Manor is nestled along the banks of the ConestogaRiver. The Conestoga River is a 61-mile-long tributary of theSusquehanna River, and the first steamboat in America floated onthe Conestoga in 1763. 6. Our 62 Pitney Road property has in the past been a working farm,has boasted a mill on the property, and has even previously hosteda library. We display our history proudly. On your next visit toRiverdale check out the display of historical artifacts found here onthe property.

Though it’s not warm and sunny at allRiverdale Manor ceremonies, everywedding and reception has gone on asscheduled despite the weather. Ourcoordinators will work with you to createa “Plan B” using an indoor covered spacethat will be as beautiful for you as if itwere a perfectly sunny day. It has been our pleasure to read multiplethank-you notes and reviews from clientsthat begin with statements such as,“Although it rained, we held ourceremony in the pavilion and it wasbeautiful. We wouldn’t have changed athing.” Careful planning with our staff makesweather adaptations go smoothly andyour guests will not even know there wasa change. We diligently work on makingthe ceremony sites as lovely as possible,but sometimes the sites need more timeto dry out after the rain ends. We arelooking forward to warm and wonderfulweather for every ceremony in the future!

Simpler is better!  Easy to readplace cards with the guest’s name,table # and when appropriate, theentrée choice on the front of thecard is the best way for our staff toserve your guests quickly.  Forserved dinners each guest needstheir own place card. Seatingcharts for buffet or station styleevents are fine.  List your guestsalphabetically by last name andthe corresponding table #.  Guestsfind their seats much easier thisway.

During dinner service, tables areserved in numerical order. As aresult, you should have all of theguests of honor seated at thelowest numbered tables. Forexample, parents and members ofthe bridal party should be seatedat tables 1 through 4.  They areserved a little sooner to allowthem more time for photos orsocializing.

Thank you for making anappointment to visit RiverdaleManor for every visit, even if youwould just like to view thegrounds. Please remind yourvendors, friends and family to giveus a call before they stop in so theydon’t accidentally walk intosomeone else’s event.

Riverdale Manor has several itemsthat you are welcome to “borrow”from us for your ceremony andreception to help simplify yourday! Arches, pedestals, easels, cardboxes, place card holders, tablenumbers are just a few of theitems available.  SomethingBorrowed lists and pictures areavailable at RiverdaleManor.comon the vendor page.

Rehearsals are scheduled at yourfinalization meeting 8-12 weeksprior to your event. Rehearsal timeis based on our availability, is forone-hour only, and at no additionalcost. Your officiant needs to attendthe rehearsal. We only reviewgeneral directions, not your vowsand other details without them.Everyone who is part of yourceremony must arrive on time.Consumption of alcohol is notappropriate at the rehearsal. Mostofficiants will forbid this. Musiciansdo not have time to learn music atthe rehearsal and must work outthose details with you at aseparate time.

Riverdale Manor supplies tablenumbers and stands for your use.Table numbers guide your gueststo their tables and allows us to getthe proper meals efficiently to yourguests. Easy-to-read table numbersand straightforward place cardsgreatly increase speed andaccuracy of dinner service. If youare making your own tablenumbers, they need to be largeand distinct enough for our servicestaff to see them from across theroom. Some clients choose to givetheir tables a name in lieu of tablenumbers. Please be advised thatthese tables will also be numberedin order for our staff to properlyserve your guests.
