FLAVIUM 2018 – 19

SVKM’s NMIMS School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, Shirpur organized annual sports

event “FLAVIUM – 2018 - 19”, between the period of 04th to 15th January 2019 at Mukesh Patel Technology

Park, Shirpur Campus. All the students of D. pharmacy, B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy and MBA Tech. B. Pharmacy

& M. Pharmacy participated in the customized and fun-filled track and field events.

The Inaugural program began with the welcome ceremony of the chief guests, Dr. Ashwini Deshpande,

Assoc. Dean SPTM Shirpur, Dr. Shirish Deshpande Professor SPTM, Dr. Sateesh Belamkar Professor SPTM and

Dr. Rakesh Bharati, Sport Officer MPTP Shirpur. The chief guest was felicitated with floral welcome. All the

teaching and non-teaching staff from SPTM Shirpur were also present for the ceremony.

The student represented national level sports, lightens the SPORT MASHAL which is a symbol

of healthy sportsmanship spirit and took a round of ground. After that the inauguration ceremony

was addressed by Dr. Ashwini Deshpande madam with her sporty and enthusiastic words and

declare that the annual sport event “FLAVIUM – 2018 - 19”, has been inaugurated.

ATHLETICS

The event was conducted on 8 and 9 January 2019.These event included games like 100metre,

200metre, 400metre, 800metre, 1500metres and relay races. The event was for both boys and girls

in which number of students participated whole heartedly. There was a tough competition in every

games. The spectators were no behind in supporting and encouraging the participants of their

particular class.

BADMINTON

12th and 13th January’ 19

On 12th and 13th of January 2019 badminton was held at RC Patel, SPTM Shirpur during the Sports

event Flavium respectively. 12th Jan was the tournament day for all girls while 13th was for the

boys. There were total 74 participant altogether. The game was conducted in three sets, each set

of 11 points. The same was continued in semi – finals and finals after the quarter finals. All the

participants were enthusiastic and cheerful throughout the tournament. All of them played well

and as the matches progressed towards finals and semi – finals, the game got more interesting and

nail biting. The faculty members also enjoyed a lot. In girls, for singles, the winner and the runner-

up were Vishwa (3rd Year) and Sambiti (1st Year) respectively and in boys, the winner and the

runner- up were Jaydeep (3rd Year) and Pranjal (3rd Year). While for doubles, in girls the winners

and runner – ups were Vishwa – Vedika and Siddhi – Yashvi and in boys, the winner and runner

up were Pranjal - Kratik and Jaydeep - Stephen respectively.

All the participants played with great team spirit and showed sportsmanship. The event was

coordinated successfully.

BASKETBALL

This event was conducted from 4th to 15th January, 2019 in which there were three events, i.e.,

Basketball boys, Basketball girls and Basketball mix. The event was conducted on the basketball

court near boy’s hostel in presence of the coordinators and faculty members.

In Basketball boys there was participation of 8 teams in which there were 5 boys in each team

playing. A game constitutes of 4 quarters each of 10 min. The fixtures were been made in

agreement with all the teams and accordingly the game was proceeded in the given slot.

The winners for the boys are 3rd year team- Abhishek Reddy, Vipul Chhabra, Yashvir Malik(C),

Umang Sheth, Sriram Devalla.

In case of mix Basketball event, there was participation of 9 teams and each team constituted of 3

boys and 2 girls.

The winning team constituted of – Yashvir Malik(C), Abhishek Reddy, Vipul Chhabra, Krishna

Shelke(Sub), Moushami Santra, Riddhi Shah.

In case of Girls Basketball event, there was participation of 6 teams in which there were 5 girls in

each team playing. A game constituted of 4 quarters of 8 min each. The fixtures were been made

in agreement with all the teams and accordingly the game was proceeded in the given slot.

The winners for the girls are 3rd year team- Moushami Santra(C), Riddhi Shah, Pradipti Das,

Yashita Singh, Vedika Koli, Krutika Pansare(Sub).

The event was conducted very successfully and with all the support of our faculty members.

TABLE TENNIS

During the stipulated event period of 2019 of 5th to 14th January 2019, the event of table tennis was

conducted in SPTM Shirpur on the days of 6th January 2019 and 12th January 2019. The sport was

conducted as a sub event in the sports festival of Flavium 2019.

The event proceeded from the day of 6th January through 12th January 2019. On the day of 6th

January, the event began by first matchup between Shivam Chadda and Dhairya. The event was

conducted in series of 3 qualifier rounds where 22 participants competed for securing their

respective place in the event playoffs. The event was being conducted in the designated table tennis

room of college situated behind the college gym, 1st floor, Old boys hostel, MPTP Shirpur. The

matches were officiated by the event head- Piyush Kolhe. The first round consisted of matches of

11 points of a single set only. The second and 3rd rounds were 3 sets of 11 points each and the

playoffs were conducted for 3 sets of 21 points each. The preliminary round was conducted on 6th

of January, 2nd and 3rd round along with the playoffs of the event were conducted on 12th January.

The players qualified for the playoffs namely Umang Sheth (3rd year) and Dhairya (1st year) faced

each other in the final matchup of the event where they played a series of 3 sets each of 21 points

each to secure the victory. At the end of the very intense matchup, Umang Sheth rose victorious

by defeating Dhairya (1st year) by a set score of 2-1. Umang Sheth was declared as the winner and

Dhairya was declared as the runner up of the event. The final match of event was officiated by

Piyush Kolhe, Jaydeep Patel and Meet Rathod during the time interval of 1 pm to 1.45 pm of 12th

January,2019

The event ended by a showcasing of great sportsmanship between the 2 finalists by shaking

their hands and congratulating each other. The statistics of the match were observed and recorded

accordingly.

This major racquet sport of the SPTM flavium was conducted between

14th and 15th of January. Many buddying players of all the three years had expectations but the

cup was bagged by not the third nor the first but second year's Sahil Goyal. The preliminary rounds

were good but as the game preceded, in the succeeding rounds, the quarters and semis had cut

throat competition. The final of the singles was played between Bhavesh Pandey of third year and

Sahil Goyal from first year

And the winner of the tournament was Sahil Goyal.

CRICKET

Main Cricket event was conducted on 12 January 2019 at cricket ground. It was conducted

with great sportsmen spirit. There were seven team who participated in these successful event. The

event started at 10:00am. The teams were graced by the presence of huge number of spectators

who encouraged their supporting team. The team participated whole heartedly and played with full

potential and respected the game. The game was played on the knockout basis. After the tough

competition, the finals were played between 3rd year team, captained by Kratik Jain and Diploma

captained by Faizal Khan. Diploma won the toss and choose to bowl first. Third year gave target

of 105 runs. Diploma was unable to chase and 3rd year won the match by 40 runs. Both the teams

played a fantastic cricket and played with their full potential. It was the nail biting performance by

both the teams. The event was held successfully under the proper guidance of faculties.

KABADDI event was conducted on 14th January 2019 at the college ground. There were 12

teams who participated in this event. The event was conducted between 7 to 9pm.The teams

were graced by the presence of huge number of spectators who encouraged their supporting

team. The team participated whole heartedly and played with full potential and respected the

game. The game was played on the league basis. After the tough competition, the finals were

played between 3rd year A team and DPharm team. The final match was very exciting and

breathtaking match. After the phenomenal performance by both the teams, DPharm team came

out with flying colors. It was conducted with great sportsmanship and team spirit. The event was

held successfully under the proper guidance of faculties.

Volleyball

From 3rd-15th January, 2019 volleyball event was conducted at the college. The event

started at 6.30 P.M and ended at 9.30 pm.

This event took place under the college sport’s festival, Flavium 2018.There was huge

participation and a total no of 6 participants teams took part in this event. The event was conducted

at the Volleyball court, SPTM Shirpur. From the quarter finals,3 games of 11 points each were

conducted and the in the semifinals and finals,5 games of 11 points each were conducted. There

was a huge participation of audience and whole heartedly cheered the athletes. As the rounds

progressed, the competition started to become strong and all the games were interesting. The play-

offs were conducted in the evening and the finals were conducted between two teams of 3rd year

for boys’ volleyball, between 1st and 2nd year for girls’ volleyball and between 3rd and 4th year

for mix volleyball which was viewed and cheered by a large audience. All the athletes played with

team spirit and showed sportsmanship. 3rd Year was the winner of the boys’ volleyball, 2nd year

was the winner of girls’ volleyball and 4th year was the winner of mix volleyball.

The event was coordinated successfully and the event was carried out successfully and

cheerfully.

Throwball

From 7th January- 12th January, 2019 Throwball event was conducted at the college. The event

started at 7:30pm and ended at 9.30 pm.

This event took place under the college sport’s festival, Flavium 2018-19.There was huge

participation and a total number of two participant’s teams took part in this event. The event was

conducted at the Volleyball court, SPTM Shirpur. From the quarter finals,2 games of 15 points

each were conducted and the in the semifinals and finals,2 games of 21 points each were

conducted. There was a huge participation of audience and whole heartedly cheered the athletes.

As the rounds progressed, the competition started to become strong and all the games were

interesting. The play-offs were conducted in the evening and the finals were conducted with both

3rd Year teams which was viewed and cheered by a large audience. All the athletes played with

team spirit and showed sportsmanship. 3rd Year second team was the winner of the Throw Ball

event.

The event was coordinated successfully and the event was carried out successfully and

cheerfully.
