BEATBeat is the leading charity supporting anyone affected by eating disorders or other difficulties with food, weight and shape. Across Roses weekend, Beat ambassadors will be out and about fundraising for the cause.

Student MindsStudent Minds aims to empower students and members of the university community to look after their own mental health, support others and create change on campuses. The University of York Student Minds group will be out and about across the weekend raising funds and asking visitors to write positive wellbeing messages and share these with others. The closing ceremony sees our 2 spectacular final rugby union fixtures taking place on 22 acres. Men’s rugby union will play first, followed by women’s rugby union 1st team taking the spotlight to close Roses. There will be performances, speeches and awards before the moment everyone has been waiting for - the awarding of the Carter James Trophy to the winner!

ROSES FESTIVAL Friday 3 May 18.45 (fixture screening starts at 19.00)Greg’s Place, University of York, YO10 5DD

As the official beginning of the weekend, this family-friendly event will see the university come alive with activity. The event will feature an outdoor stage with live performances from local and student groups, funfair stalls and a spectacular fireworks display on the lake (approx. 9.45pm)!

From 7pm the Opening Ceremony will be screened LIVE to Greg’s Place!
