  • Description of materialFixtemp C&B is an automatically mixable composite on the basis of multifunctional methylacrylates. It is used for the manufacturing of temporary crowns and bridges, as well as inlays, onlays and veneers, and it is available in tooth-colours A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1 and Bleach X.

IndicationTemporary crowns and bridges, inlays, onlays and veneers and long-term temporaries.

Time dataAt a room temperature of 23 °C and a comparative air humidity of 50 % the following time data is provided for processing:

Lower temperatures extend, higher temperatures shorten the given time data.

    a) Direct manufacturingFixtemp C&B is applied directly out of the double cartridge by help of the mixing tips (especially for 4:1 materials) into an impression (which has been taken before the preparation) in the area of the denture. To receive exact and stable results it is recommended to cut out the interdental septum. For the avoidance of air bubbles, it is important that the tip of the mixing tips stays inside the material. The preparations have to be blocked out and insulated at the under-cuts e. g. with Vaseline. The Fixtemp C&B filled impression is to be

inserted in situ within the above mentioned processing time, and is to be hold in position until reaching the flexible phase (approx. 2 min) under constant pressure. Afterwards the temporary can be removed along with the impression, but it is recommended to let it remain inside the impression for about 5 min (end of poly-merisation).b) Indirect manufacturingFor manufacturing the temporary in a dental laboratory a precise situation model of the state before the preparation is required, as well as a prep-model. A thermo-forming blank (e. g. Drufolen H) is placed onto the model in the area of the teeth that need to be prepared; subsequently a matrix is cut out and filled with Fixtemp C&B directly from the double cartridge with the mixing tips. 30 seconds after beginning of mix-ing, the Fixtemp C&B-filled thermo-forming blank is set on the insulated preparation model (e. g. with Isolat Film) and fixed safely at the remaining teeth. After 2 minutes, the flexible phase of Fixtemp C&B is reached, and the thermoforming blank can be removed carefully along with the temporary. Until the material has ultimately hardened after 5 minutes, the temporary is recommended to remain inside the thermoforming blank.

Final Treatment• The inhibition layer on the surface, which has been created by the

aerial oxygen, can be removed from the not-abraded areas with the help of organic solvent (e. g. isopropyl alcohol).

    • The temporary is to be treated with fine carbide-trephines after it has hardened completely (at least 5 minutes after begin of mixing). Do not breathe in abrading dust! Use mask or suction!

    • Apply light-curing high-gloss lacquer (e. g. Plaquit) or polish manually with rubber-polisher respectively caprine-hair brush.

CementationCements containing Eugenol can interfere the curing composites when fixing. Insert temporary with usual temporary fixing cements (e. g. Fixtemp cement).

    Technical dataProcessing time > 45 sec. Curing time < 1:50 min.Pressure strength 200 MPaBending strength (after 24 h) 60 MPaWater absorption 25 µg / mm³

Important advice• Due to technical filling an unbalanced mixing of components

can occur when using new cartridges. For this reason it is recom-mended to dispose the initially mixed pea-sized amount.

    • In case of reusing a started double cartridge the outlets have to be cleaned of possible blockages before attaching the mixing tips.

    • Disinfection with usual material is possible without any problems.• This product is only to be used in the above mentioned applica-

tion area. Only professional and introduced persons are allowed to use this product.

Keep away from children!Only for dental use!

ContraindicationsThe material should not be used for allergies to any of the ingredients and / or contact allergies.

Side effectsSo far no systematic side effects are known.

Desinfection of the Injector 4:1The disinfection can be carried out with a common immersion disinfection and is also autoclavable.

Storage conditionsStore at room temperature that means not over 25 °C. Do not store in refrigerator!

Fixtemp cement.
