The history of ROWI

1885 Eugen Rodi and Wilhelm Wienenberger found their jewelry factory in Pforzheim. Everything started with 4 employees who manufactured broochs, bracelets, lockets, tie pins and other jewelry.

1899 Rowi conversion from a partnership into a stock – cooperation.

1920 Besides the manufacture of jewelry and watchcases for pocket Rowi start to manufacture watches.

1929 Extension of the product range with bracelets made of stainless steel.

1944 The plant in the Bleichstraße in Pforzheim is nearly completely destroyed by bomb – raids. The rebuilding begins ensuing one year.

1952 The begin of a new chapter in ROWI’s history with the Fixoflex® patent, representing a revolutionary invention of an expandable watch band.

1970 ROWI becomes the partner of many globally well known watch brands due to its production of watch cases also with integrated bracelets based on sophisticated designs and high quality.

1974 ROWI exhibits for the first time at the most important interna-tional Watch & Jewellery Fair in Basel, Switzerland.

1985 With Fixoflex® 2000 Rowi introduces the flattest expandable metal watchband in the market.

1985 ROWI celebrates its centenary.

1988 Rowi exhibits the first time at the International Watch & Clock Fair in Hong Kong.

1991 Conversion into a limited company, chief partner of the company and president is Horst Dangelmayer.

1996 The enterprise moves into a complete new built factory in the Stuttgarter Street, that is located in the new industrial area of Pforzheim.

1999 Application for patent Fixoflex® C – an expandable watchband with closed side parts.

2000 regenerate a new business unit, turned-, milled-, and welded technique.

2006 Rowi was taking over by Gernot Schäfenacker under the name Rowi Schäfennacker Gmbh & Co. KG.

Since October 1st, 2010 Mr. Luat Trong Nguyen is the new chief executiveofficer of ROWI Präzisionstechnik GmbH.

Put the topshell over one side and pull down the other side by using the Fixoflex® pliers until it clicks into place audibly. If required, press a bit against the sides of the topshells.

Setzen Sie jetzt das Oberteil von einer Seite über den Bandkörper. Über die andere hochstehende Seite des Oberteils drücken Sie dieses mit der Fixoflex® Zange herunter, bis das Oberteil hörbar einrastet. Falls erforderlich können Sie die Seitenteile des Oberteils noch etwas andrücken.

Apposez la coquille sur la maille respective en la tenant inclinée d’un côté. Pour fi xer, exercez une pression avec la pince Fixoflex® à l’autre bout de la coquille – celle-ci écartée un peu du bracelet – et continuez jusqu’ au déclic. A l’aide de la pince il est possible d’aplatir un peu, de remettre en bon état, si nécessaire, les parties latérales du bracelet.

PUT TOGETHER in reverse order: connect the shortened or lengthened halves of the watchband together by insering the loose U-bow. Ensure that every U-bow clickes into place.

ZUSAMMENSETZEN in umgekehrter Reihenfolge: Hängen Sie die gekürzten oder verlängerten Bandhälften zusammen. Setzen Sie dann den losen U-Bügel ein. Achten Sie darauf, dass jeder U-Bügel einrastet.

REMONTAGE dans l‘ordre inverse: Raccrochez les deux moitiés raccourcies ou rallongées du bracelet à l‘aide de l‘étrier. Vérifi ez que chaque étrier s‘est bien encliqueté.

Separate the watchband by sliding sideways. It is advantageous to separate the watchband by pushing in such a way that a U-bow remains in the upper part of the watchband‘s link.

PUT TOGETHER in reverse order: connect the shortened or lengthened halves of the watchband together by insering the loose U-bow. Ensure that every U-bow clickes into place.

ZUSAMMENSETZEN in umgekehrter Reihenfolge: Hängen Sie die gekürzten oder verlängerten Bandhälften zusammen. Setzen Sie dann den losen U-Bügel ein. Achten Sie darauf, dass jeder U-Bügel einrastet.

Die Geschichte von ROWI

1885gründeten Eugen Rodi und Wilhelm Wienenberger die Schmuckfabrik ROWI Rodi & Wienenberger GmbH in Pforzheim.

1889wurde ROWI Rodi & Wienenberger GmbH in eine Aktienge-sellschaft umgewandelt und fokussierte sich bis 1920 auf die Herstellung von Schmuck.

1920erDie Produktpalette wurde in den Jahren 1920 mit der Her-stellung von Gehäusen für Taschenuhren und 1929 mit der Manufaktur von Armbanduhrgehäusen und Metallarmbändern erweitert.

1944wurde das Firmengebäude in der Bleichstraße in Pforzheim durch einen Bombenangriff nahezu vollständig zerstört und im darauffolgenden Jahr wieder aufgebaut.

1952erfand Rowi das dehnbare Uhrarmband Fixoflex®, ein bis dato völlig neuartiges Produkt in der Branche. Fixoflex® wurde patentiert und leitete ein neues Kapitel in der Geschichte von ROWI ein.

1970wird ROWI Partner vieler internationaler bekannter Uhren-marken als Hersteller von Uhrgehäusen mit und ohne integrierten Metallbändern in anspruchsvollem Designs und hoher Qualität.

1974Mit dieser Qualität stellt ROWI zum ersten Mal im Jahre 1974 auf der Baseler Messe aus und präsentiert seither einem internationalen Fachpublikum seine neusten Kreationen im Uhren- und Schmuckbereich.

1984Fixoflex® blieb nicht das letzte Patent von ROWI. Im Jahre 1984 wurde Fixoflex® 2000, das flachste dehnbare Metalluhrband der Welt patentiert.

1988Auf der Watch & Clock Fair 1988 in Hong Kong überschritt ROWI die grenzen des deutschsprachigen Raumes und präsentiert sich seither international.

1991wurde die Aktiengesellschaft ROWI Rodi & Wienenberger in eine GmbH umgewandelt und Herr Horst Dangelmayer übernahm das Unternehmen als neuer Geschäftsführer.

1996Die neu konzipierte Fabrik in der Stuttgarter Straße in Pforzheim dient seit 1996 als eigenes Fabrikations- und Verwaltungsge-bäude von ROWI.

1999ROWI entwickelte ihr Fixoflex® weiter und 1999 wurde das Fixoflex® C, ein dehnbares Uhrband mit geschlossenen Seitengliedern, patentiert.

2000ROWI bildet neben der Uhrarmbandherstellung eine neue Sparte und bietet seit 2000 Präzisions-, Dreh- und Frästeiletechnik an.

2006übernahm Herr Gernot Schäfenacker Rowi unter dem Namen ROWI Schäfenacker GmbH & Co. KG.

Seit dem 1. Oktober 2010übernimmt Herr Luat Trong Nguyen die Geschäftsführung von ROWI Präzisionstechnik GmbH. In seiner Unternehmenspolitik hat er sich zum Ziel gesetzt, die traditionellen Werte von ROWI mit einer modernen Unternehmensführung zu kombinieren.
