I. This part of novel deals with the exam season of engineering college.

II. In this part hari meets with prof cherrians daughter for 1’st time in accident.

CHAPTER 4: LINE DRAWING

I. In this part of novel it reveals the economical status of alok.

II. Neha’s reveals the fact of her brother’s death due a railway accident.

III. Here hari also discusses the fact of Boys night out .

Chapter 5: Make Notes, Not War

I. This part deals with the 1’st semestral exams – pressure.

II. Hari’s romance with priya start budding.

CHAPTER 6: FIVE POINT SOMETHING

• First set of results out – “These were pathetic grades: we ranked in the high 200s in a class of 300 students”

• Alok’s rant about his mother not having bought a Sari in 5 years, Alok moves out and moves in with Venkat, the geek

CHAPTER 7: ALOK SPEAKS OUT

I. Alok reveals more about his family background, Dad’s paralysis.

CHAPTER 8: ONE YEAR LATERI. Alok begins to hate Venkat.II. He had fight with venkat for helping

him in his assinment because his father is in serious condition.

III. Ryan takes Alok’s Dad to the hospital, wins back Alok

Ryan’s take in the book is to cheat the system

Alok jumps from the Insti roof unable to take the pressure of being rusticated.

Alok in the hospital with his legs motionless, survives near death

CHAPTER 22: RYAN SPEAKSWe learn how the narrator wanted to

be an artist and of Ryan’s past

The three get another chance to write and submit their projects.

And prof. veera come to meet alok with kaju barfi.

CHAPTER 24: WILL WE MAKE IT

Alok on crutches, the three finish their coursework and resubmit their projects.

CHAPTER 25: A DAY OF LETTERS

Cherian finally finds the letter his son’s suicide note and breaks down.

Chapter 26: Meeting DaddyHere in this we come across the Alok’s

interview and Ryan’s research internship

CHAPTER 27: FIVE POINT SOMEONE

This is the day of convocation, and Cherian realises how the Education system is flawed in a dream sequence. The boys pass out of IIT and the narrator post a letter to Ryan’s parents for funding his project.
