ApplicationsUse with copper, brass, aluminum and welded steel hydrau-lic tubing that can be flared. Manufactured especially forhard-to-hold liquids and gases.

Temperature RangesFrom -65° to +250°F.

VibrationShort nut may be used when vibration is minimal. The longnut offers additional vibration capacity.

SizesTube sizes are determined by the numbers of sixteenths ofan inch in the tube O.D.

Working Pressure RangesTemperature and type of tubing used are important factors.However, the following table is a good guide for properselection. Temperature 73°F with copper tubing:

Assembly Instructions1. Cut tubing squarely and remove burrs.2. Place nut onto tube. Place threaded end of nut toward3. Flare tube end with flaring tool to provide 45° flare.4. Clamp tube flare between nut and nose of fitting body by

screwing nut on finger-tight. Tighten with a wrench for ametal-to-metal seal.

Flare fittings are easy to disassemble and may be reas-sembled repeatedly, for a leak-proof connection.

ApplicationsUse with copper, brass and aluminum. Not recommendedfor steel tubing. Manufactured for low and medium pressuretubing connection work where excessive vibration or tubemovement is not involved.

Prestolok Brass Fittings

AdvantagesCompact one piece brass fitting for use with polyethylene,nylon or soft metal tubing. This fitting is specially designedfor low pressure circuits where fast assembly, disassemblyand reassembly is important. No special tools are neededfor assembly; just insert the tubing into the fitting until itbottoms. Prestolok is designed to be used with no tubesupport. Radial claws on the metal grab ring grip thetubing securely to provide retention. Once in the fitting, thetubing can rotate freely even under pressure. Prestolokfeatures swivels on male pipe threaded shapes for installa-tion in tight places and for precise positioning only.Prestolok should not be used for live swivel applications.Sealing is obtained with a nitrile O-ring. Prestolok can beassembled and disassembled repeatedly without impairingits ability to seal. The outside diameter of the tubing to beused with the fitting is marked on the push sleeve. Sizes1/4" and above have internal hexes broached for installationwith an allen wrench in confined areas and close portingapplications.

Working Pressure and Temperature RangesZero to 150° F. at up to 285 psi. Vacuum applications aredependent upon temperature and type of tubing beingused.

ApplicationsUse with Parker series "E" polyethylene tubing, ParkerParflex series "N" nylon tubing or soft metal tubing.Prestolok is designed to conduct air, water, oil and inertgases. Prestolok is ideal for use in pneumatic instrumen-tation circuits and many industrial applications. Allapplications should be carefully tested through the range ofconditions which may be encountered prior to use.

Assembly InstructionsCut nylon and polyethylene tubing squarely with a tubecutter. Metal tubing should be cut squarely and be free ofburrs. Insert end of tubing until it bottoms in fitting.Depressing the release button allows the ;tubing to beremoved.

SizesTube sizes are determined by the numbers of sixteenths ofan inch in the tube O.D.of an inch in the tube O.D.

Dryseal Pipe Threads

Pipe threads are made to the Dryseal USA(American) - Standard Taper Pipe Thread*standard, known as the NPTF. Dryseal pipethreads, unlike other types of threads, sealjoints pressure-tight.

The dryseal pipe thread roots are wider thanthe crests. When the threads are wrenchedtogether, the roots crush the sharper crestsof the mating threads. This forms a metal-to-metal seal. Dryseal threads improve sealingcharacteristics, but a thread sealant isrecommended.

Heat and light stabilized seamless extruded nylon core reinforcedwith one open ply of fibrous reinforcement and a protective nyloncover sheath. The outer cover and core are fused to minimizeleakage and maximize impact resistance and are always of con-trasting colors.
